July 8, 2008 — "Your worth ain’t on a price tag/It comes from within."
That’s a key part of the lyrics in Kellie Pickler’s current single, "Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful," in which the verses address fear-driven behavior by girls and women struggling with their personal sense of attractiveness. Kellie didn’t write the song, but she recorded it because she identified with its message.
"It’s important that when you look in the mirror, you’re happy with what you see," she told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "I’ve always said that, and I think that when you walk into a room, be it a man or a woman, you should hold your head high with confidence. I think everyone should look in the mirror and go, ‘Wow, I look good. I’m beautiful,’ you know? You should feel good about who you are."
The songwriters behind "Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful" have a very strong track record together. Chris Lindsey and Aimee Mayo have written Lonestar’s "Amazed," Tim McGraw’s "Drugs Or Jesus" and Martina McBride’s "This One’s For The Girls." "Beautiful" co-writer Karyn Rochelle also worked with Chris and Aimee in writing Kellie’s first two hits, "Red High Heels" and "I Wonder."

Nice article. The last sentence though should have mentioned Kellie as co-writer as well.
That's right. He should have mentioned her as being the co-writer. Which makes me doubt if Kellie didn't co-write this song as well. It just sounds so much like Kellie.
