I think she's only told the full story behind "Best Days" once. In the very first interview that she mentioned the song, on US99 last year. Then she talked about it a little bit in a CMT interview not long after that. But ever since, the most she'll say is "it's about an ex-boyfriend".

I'm sure either she decided or her managers told her it would be best not to tell the whole story anymore since it involves other people (including a baby). But she could at least say something to the effect of "I was going through a rough time dealing with an ex-boyfriend. And Taylor said we should write a song about it so we did. And every word in the song is true". (All of which she has mentioned before.) It'll get people more excited about the song (and the album) than just saying "Well, we're both songwriters and we we're on tour together so we decided to write a song".

That wasn't an exact quote. I was saying that's what she should say from now on. Like I said, she explained the full story behind the song and told who it was about in an interview last year. But I don't believe the interview's available on the site anymore. The song is not about Jordin. She said in the US99 interview that it's about an ex that she dated for 4 years that cheated on her and got another girl pregnant. That would be Will, the guy she dated before Jordin.

I'm hoping she clarifies it's not about Jordin. Or else everyone's going to assume that's who it's about...

Once again, I live in Albemarle and know that Kellie and the ex you are talking about WERE NOT dating when the couple became engaged and expecting. They broke up in Nov. 2006 and He didn't meet the girl until Feb. 2007. Kellie was also talking to/dating Jordin then. Upset He moved on so soon,maybe. Cheated? No. Good story to sell records-you figure it out. The baby wasn't born until the end of Jan.2008,so do the math. Nov.2006-Jan. 2008=14 monts not 9 months. Ask anyone that knows them both.

Just because her ex didn't a baby until later doesn't mean that she was never cheated on or that she never had to deal with what the song is about. But anyway, Kellie will tell us what she wants us to know.
