Am sure you guys know about the "Can You Duet?" program that has just started on CMT being co-sponsored by AI.....turned it on this afternoon because they are showing all the episodes of the the tryouts.....Anyway, these cute gals came on and the song they chose?????Red High Heels....In case some of you may not be aware the judges for CYD are Naomi Judd, Aimee Mayo (who did a lot of work on Kellie's STG CD), and somebody Manning (not familiar with him)......I was SO PROUD that a song written by Kellie was chosen for their "try out"....one young lady made the cut, the other one didn't....Just found it very interesting, since Kellie co-wrote that song and it is so familiar now with country singers....

The local paper here is keeping up with that show as our local young man Jeremiah Richey and his partner Nick Brownell are still in the competition...Good showing for our local young man...By the way Jason on American Idol lives just a few miles from here in Rockwall...

Aimee Mayo co-wrote "Red High Heels". She's also working with Kellie on her next album. And her husband (Chris Lindsey) is producing it.
I remember reading an article somewhere and Aimee said that both Kellie and Chris were addicted to the show. They were working together and she couldn't tear them away from the tv. I'll have to see if I can find that.

I've actually seen portions of the show, and noticed Amiee was on the judging panel, she's so adorably talented,it's no wonder why Kellie and Amiee get along so well.

I just watched this one tonight on a rerun.
The girl that didn't make it -- Ashley Lawing -- also tried out for "American Idol" this year. She's also from somewhere here in N.C. She's kind of cute, maybe a bit annoying, but clearly not a singer.
