View Poll Results: Who's Your Favorite Female Celebrity Dancer?
Well that is true plus I thought Helio was the best male dancer in the competition so it's OK that he won plus I love Julianne but I still wanted my female winner this season.
Yeah but that's not saying much. The males were awful this season.
Mel was dull performance wise and overrated, but still better than Helio.
If this was a dance competition, Mel or Sabrina would of won. If it was a popularity contest Marie would of won. Helio just had the balance of the two I guess.
IMO Helio didn't win, it was Sabrina who lost and therefore he basically won by default.
I don't understand the hatred for male dancers. The males job is not as flashy as the females in ballroom dancing, but that doesn't mean that they don't work just as hard. If you watch their feet they are constantly working. They don't step out and do turns, but so what, they have to know where to place their hands and how to lead the woman into the turns and help her out of them.
Sabrina was the best technical dancer on the show, and upon her departure the best technical dancer was Mel. But dance isn't 100% about technique. The dancer also has to emote the feeling of the dance and connect with the audience. I felt like Sabrina didn't know how to be soft in her moves, everything was hard harsh and crisp, she lacked the fluidity and grace needed for some ballroom dancers. I know Mel is a better dancer than Helio but she was so bland when she danced that I'd much prefer to watch Helio any day. Danny Tidwell from So You Think You Can Dance is the most talented dancer I have ever seen in my entire life. But he's far from my favorite dancer, while I connect with him when he dances I don't connect with him nearly as much as I connect with Dusty Button, Travis Wall, or Allison Holker.
Performance doesn't make someone a dancer, thats why Marie didn't make the final two and why people like George Hamilton and Jerry Springer never quite make the connect to becoming a good dancer.
Personally I don't think its fair to take all credit away from Helio and what he accomplished because you think someone else should have won. Just like I don't think its fair to subtract from what Mel accomplished because she didn't win the title.

I have to agree with you 100% Heather. I like Helio,he seems so geniune, however,it still would have been nice to see Mel win as she kept me interested.Marie is just a born talent, but was quite inconsistant throughout the duration of DWTS.Jennie as well kept me interested and Cam as well.Actors seem to have a way to connect with their audience.Sabrina was and is a terrific dancer, and as you said just right, she was to hard and crisp, not soft enough. It was a season full of suprises and always left me wanting more.I'm looking foward to next season already.
Did Stacey actually have training as an adult or was she just in dance classes as a child? Regardless she is probably still the best techincal dancer ever on the show. Although Sabrina might pass her up this season.
I'm incredibly late replying to this and someone might have already (not going through 9 pages to look, lol) But Stacy was a cheerleader for the Baltimore Ravens. Which is, a dancer.
