ok so its on while I'm on the computer at my Grandmas. Its about all the things people do to hurt peoples feelings... like racial comments, making people feel stupid etc. It totally made me cry because it made me think of all the things I had to go through when I was growing up. People can be so cruel and they never think of what they are saying and how it hurts people. Its amazing how many people can be hurt by one stupid comment but it is so true and sometimes its really hard to just turn your head. You can't unsay something once its said.
Anyone else see it?

yea....I saw it and it made me cry too....but it also made me really happy that, that school is changing the way they treat each other. They should start a program doing all the activities they did and incorporate it into every school.

My mom was watching it because she watches Oprah like every day...so I caught a part of it. It was all about teens and how some of them treat each other. In my opinion, teens today have a harder time growing up and going through changes than teens 10 years ago. My math teacher was even talking about this subject today. (Don't ask me why...lol) She gre up in Massachusetts and she had a really tough upbringing and is a very tough teacher...for her to say that MUST mean that it's true, and in my opinion, it is.
There are SO many cliques and stereotypes today...it's ridiculous. If you are seen talking to someone from another "clique" that you don't belong to, you are shunned. It's heartbreaking...then when we leave to go to college and start a career, people will take these bad habits with them...it's really sad. Like Oprah was saying that and how work can be like high school is...how people are afraid to be themselves. It's just really sad.

Yeah it was really nice seeing everyone come together in the end. It really does need to be incorporated into every school. teens have such a hard time growing up today. If you are different in any way then you are shunned. I can relate because when i was going to school, I was the kid who was disabled, and I had just come out of two years of special school, and by the time I got to a regular school I never fit in. I was not only shunned by most of the kids but they called me stupid or retarded and they would give me these looks that really hurt. I was so glad when I got off school and could go home. It wasn't until College that I even had a real friend, who to this day, is still my best friend. I had a few in high school but they were never true friends and I don't even know where they are today. No matter what anyone says, words hurt. People need to learn how to do the things that they were talking about today because we would really have a much better world. As someone who grew up with some of those judgements, I can attest to the fact that the more people say something the more you start to believe it. You don't know how hard it was for me to get to the point where I actually believed that I could do the same things everyone else did. For a long time, I believed the things they said and felt totally alone. If schools could find a way to incorporate this training into their lessons, maybe we could avoid some of that.
