Awww Ashlae! I hope you're feeling better. I sometimes have sleep problems also so I know how you feel. That's why I hate to wake up early! I usually go to work at 10 or 11 am, but sometimes I have to go work at 8 so I have to wake up at 6 I pretty much feel realy tired the whole day.

Someone already mention exercise and get involved with fun activities. It's an excellent idea to keep your energy up and keep you motivated an control your depression.

I hope you're feeling better too, and trust me, you're not alone. In fact, almost everyone (if NOT everyone) goes through something similar to this at some point in their life.

I'll be the first to admit this, but my parents are extremely overprotective. To the point where it pushes me away from them and makes me want to get away as much as I can. I'm a good student, I make good grades (4.0 GPA) yet they still don't trust me and force me to do things I shouldn't have to. When it was time to go to college, I was forced to wait a semester before going. This. hurt. me. bad. Like anyone who graduates high school, I was really looking forward to college.

I went through a depression right then and was able to hide it from my friends. Like you, I was total opposite around them. Even when I started college the semester afterwards, my parents were still reluctant on letting me be as active as I wanted to be, ie: in student organizations, ect. I had my first anxiety attack around that point, my second followed not long later.

Needless to say, I'm doing better, but I occassionally still get depressed over the way things are in my home life. As much as it hurt then, I stayed strong and took care of myself. I want you to do the same! Hold your head high, don't let things get you down. You'll get better, I promise. If you need anyone to talk to just PM me!! And try not to worry about the weight issue!! It's just a couple pounds!

Okay, well dont do an eating disorder! your 13 like me and your body thickens becuase your filling in,when your 15 or 16 you'll have a better shape. listen to soothing music or imagine floating on a cloud when your sleeping. im sorry to hear that my grandma and grandpa died on halloween this year 12 hours apart in the day! freaky but life goes on and i cry. none is completely happy.

Ashlae you are thirteen and your body is changing faster than you can keep up with...Believe me I have seen this same thing..It is moreso for young ladies as the female body is such a complicated thing...You have more change ahead of you and you will have to adjust as you grow...
Everyone has emotional times in their life when loved ones pass on but realize it is just part of life...I sense in you a strong and intelligent young lady and one that can be in touch with herself...I think I am a true Aries
as I have trouble falling asleep as I am afraid I will miss something..Reading before you go to bed and absorbing what you read helps me to relax as does deep breathing..Yoga and or Karate helps to build mental toughness as well as physical being...Your situation will come and go most probably..Look at your routine if it is repetitive then change it somewhat...But remember your body is in an uproar right now but it will get better...Can't let one of my favorite young people feel bad...

Hey Ashlae, Sawgod here... sounds like you may have PTSD. Many years ago, many felt this was only for Soldiers who fought in battle. lately, in the past few years, many variations of this have surfaced. You losing close family, so close together, does qualify for this. Wieght thing is normal for young ladies your age. Sleep disorders also happen, but yours does sound like PTSD. Talk to the school nurse, and see your family doctor. Although you are young, some meds are avail to you, but with close Doctors supervision. I suffer from PTSD, and very erratic sleep habits. Been this way for years, but there is not really much help for my situation. I'm just a living stress case!!

I am 15 and my grandpa, who i was very close to, I saw him everyday, and my pop-pop died 3 years ago two months apart. i know how you feel. You can PM me if you need someone to talk to.

Thanks everyone. It's been a while since I posted in this topic and I'm doing well. Back in 2006 I was very confused about when my depression started (it begun way before anyone close to me passed away). I'm on anti depressants, I'm getting counseling and I know I'm going to be OK. My sleep patterns are better but the reason why I can't sleep at night is because I get VERY hyper at night. I'm a night owl basically. I just wanted to say thank you all for you kind wishes and thoughts. It really means a lot to me.
