Aww, that was me, too. We must have been connected. I told my daughter, Magan, several months ago, that I adopted Kellie. You have to know Magan to appreciate her roll-eyed reaction, "Gee, thanks, Dad".

To be completely honest I was NOT expecting her single to be this good! It's amazing and it is really catchy. I like it a lot and I'm not huge on country. The lyrics are really good too. If the rest of her album is like this she has nothing to worry about it!

In short, a home run!!!!!
I have several comments:
1. The melody is right in Kellie's vocal range, and although not complicated, is perfect for this kind of song. It makes you want to "sing along", a quality very important for the song to get a big following.
2. The lyrics are amazing....and I am assuming this is the part that Kellie contributed. KELLIE WITH ATTITUDE! She probably had some help, but Kellie, darlin', you did good. The shoe theme plays well throughout the song and everything fits perfectly together.
3. I respectfully disagree with those who said it doesn't sound like Kellie's voice. I think it sounds exactly like her (oh, BTW, it is!!). Go back and listen to Suds In A Bucket.
4. I am really glad they didn't try to bring out one of the ballads first. This is a perfect first offering. It reminds me of the type of song Gretchen Wilson would do.
5. Overall, I think this is just the type of song that country music fans adore. I am so looking forward to the music video. I am sure BNA has top director lined up. Everything else they have done for her has been first class. And Kellie deserves nothing less.

Very well written Robert. I agree with everything you say. I think if you listen to her since her audition, there is no doubt it's her voice.
You will pick up on her "signature" voice all over the place. Like I already written in some other threads, the song is punchy and fast paced, which is going to be great for dancing and is great for this genre of music and fits her song style quite well
The streams doesn't really have any bass level or high dynamic range so we will have to wait for the CD single. I think the CD is going to be awesome. I can't wait.

I'll have to admit, I was curious about how she was going to fit Red High
Heels into a song, but she did it and did a very good job of it. I like it!!!

Red High Heels is of course amazing. It sounds like a new country genre. It's not country but it is country. You get what I mean? She is AWESOME!!! SOOO AMAZING!!!

I thought I would love it, and I was right.
I think RHH is really catchy, and it makes you want to sing along. That's easier for the gals, I guess, than us fellows. I just know I'm going to find myself singing along to it out in public one day and get some funny stares.
I think it's a great choice for a first song.
I like the Dolly Parton-like sound to her voice in this one. It works well with the lyrics and the beat.
I think it lets us know that she can rework her voice to fit the song, and that hints at even greater things to come as she grows as an artist.
