Will STG go Platinum?

Did you think that Kellie's album will go platinum evenually? I think that it will but it will take time.

I voted yes only because I hope it does even though so far I have serious doubts because I haven't seen the marketing needed to make it happen, at least not anytime soon. I don't want it to go platinum just for the sake of going platinum, without the retail sales to back it up. So far, since they haven't tried much it seems like the label does not even want it to go platinum. There are a number of things that could and should have been done to increase sales that were not done. Taylor Swift's label did all of those things and that's why her album is headed towards 3x platinum and she's winning awards. It's unreal that Kellie's label didn't even do enough to make her album just 1x platinum by the end of 2007 like Joe said would happen.

I would be really shocked if it didn't go platinum. Eventually, provided her second CD does really well, it will probably go double or triple platinum EVENTUALLY.

Why it isn't already platinum because of her management is really puzzling. Sometimes I think they are actively sabotaging her from going platinum. Although why they would do that I don't know.

I should correct my post. Not only were there a number of things that could and should have been done to increase sales that were not done. We also saw some ridiculous things done to decrease sales or keep them low, like raising the Amazon.com price to $15.99 and Walmart.com to $15.88 shortly after the label started sending her myspace visitors to Amazon and just when Christmas shopping started. If they wanted to increase sales and go platinum they would have lowered those prices not raised them. I didn't see anyone else's prices go up, theirs went down.

I have no doubt that Small Town Girl will eventually reach platinum status. Worst case scenario, I'm sure that with the release of her next album people will check out STG and it will be enough to tip it over the required shipments.

I know what u mean. If anyone deserves to go Platinum, that's our Kellie!

I think there's hope yet. Just needs a little time the way they are mucking around with the marketing bit.

It would if her record company would ship them out to these stores like they should be. It would of already happen if they would keep up on their end.

I think STG will go platinum. There is no doubt that if Kellie would have had better promotion and backing it would have been platinum long ago! Makes me mad..
