I posted a lament yesterday when someone posted March 5th as the official radio release date for I Wonder in the Mediabase thread. I had a few questions. Here's my post:

Also, I emailed Wes Vause about a week ago and asked if I Wonder had been released to radio yet. He sent me the following press release without comment. This is also posted on Kellie's BNA site.

So my conclusion is (someone correct me if this is not right) that there is a digital release date (maybe a.k.a. "promo only") which is not really official, but stations can get the song if they want it (i.e., Feb 5). Then later there is an "official relase date" i.e. March 5. This may be the date that BNA actually sends out a physical CD (no matter that nearly all stations get their songs by digitally downloading them).
So, what is the big deal? What difference does it make? Not really any, but as mentioned in my post yesterday, if March 5 is a "action date", i.e., BNA does something active to get "adds", then we might feel better that I Wonder hasn't zoomed up the chart as we were expecting.
Also, the "debut" position on the chart is probably at the offical release date, which might explain why the label has the "promo only" relase a month early.....build up steam so that when the official release date comes it will debut higher on the chart. Or so it seems.
Man, I have entirely too much time on my hands......
