Making a grown man cry

Well, I thought this 2 month aniversary for Small Town Girl deserved a few comments from Kellie's #1 Asheboro (NC) fan.

I have listened to this CD hundreds of times over the past six months. I enjoy it every time I listen. I Wonder still brings tears to my eyes.

I keep thinking...."if I continue to listen to this song so much, I am eventually going to get tired of it...." but I never do. My Angel has the same effect on me, especially in the last chorus when she changes inflection on "who LOVED me like you did...." That little change makes the world of difference for me.

Trying to rank the songs on STG in order of how I like them is very, very difficult. Clearly, for me, I Wonder is tops and My Angel is #2. Gotta Keep Moving and Wild Ponies are #10 and #11 on my list, although I really like both songs. Girls Like Me is #9, but not by much. It almost makes the #3-#8 group, but I have to say it doesn't move me quite as much as the other songs do.

When we come to the group just below I Wonder and My Angel, I just can't separate these songs. And they are not far behind the top two. I do think that One Of The Guys may be a big hit if they do a great video, and this song has a chance of surprising a lot of people. It has a catchy hook and lots of really fun images.

I have noticed that a number of Kellie Fans have said that Gotta Keep Moving or Wild Ponies was their top song. I think this shows how good this album is that all the songs have such a wide appeal. And I think that most would agree that the songs Kellie worked on are the best. Everyone except Kellie, who has said that Didn't You Know How Much You Loved Me is her favorite. However, I guess she didn't want to pick one of hers.

"My Angel" always has the same effect on me,too. No matter how much I listen to it,it always starts tearing my heart that Kellie's grandmother isn't here to see all her dreams come true. That's the part that always gets me. I've never cried,but it's a real sweet song and I always feel like her world was ripped apart when her grandmother died.

Ok now that i have heard her CD for more than thousand times so i am in a good position to rank the songs on her album.

My absolute favourite on her album is "DIDNT YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVED YOU" and "I WONDER" with "SMALL TOWN GIRL" very close.

The song that i listen to least is "GIRLS LIKE ME".."I AM ON MY WAY" has really grown on me.When i first heard it i was like its ok but now its one of my favourite.

those are some excellent ranks Robert,enjoyed reading what you had to say about the album,i definately agree and have to say that Kellie did a fabulous job with the writing of the album.Each song has it's own unique of telling a story,although she only co-wrote 5 of the 11 tracks.

Plus all the rest, I would have a terrible time trying to rank them.

All good songs. I could see just about any of them becoming hits.

It's the same with me! Whatever song that I'm listening to at the moment is my favorite.

I still like RHH the best. Don't know why.

And,of course,I'm growing more fond if "Didn't You KNow How Much I Loved You" everyday.
