I pick Barack Obama because I think he can change this country around and make it better than it is today. We really need that after Bush became president.

First of all, let me just say that today's biggest electoral problem, and perhaps the most frightening, is the uninformed voter. That said, let's move on.
Hillary is all about Hillary. She will do whatever it takes if it's in her best interest. Interesting that we haven't heard a peep about her holdings with Rose Financial, Whitewater and the Vince Foster coverup. Not to mention the disgraceful way in which she disrespected the Marines who were stationed at the Whitehouse while Bill was president. Oh yeah, and what about all the stuff the Clinton's stole from the residence when they moved out. Oh, that's right, it all just mysteriously disappeared. Hmmmmmm. Maybe we'll hear about all this and other misgivings if she gets the nomination.
Moving on to Obama. This guy scares the living crap outta me. He's a sneaky manipulator with a dark agenda. I can't quite put my finger on exactly what his deal is, but it's not good, that's for sure. I find it strange and very disheartening that so many are turning a blind eye to the fact he he refuses to wear an American Flag pin or put his hand over heart for the Pledge Of Allegiance. These are definite indicators of a larger & more sinister agenda. I just don't trust him. He has something going on under the table that may never be openly exposed, but it's definitely not in the best interest of the U.S.A. When he speaks, he comes across as, "I'm telling you whatever you want to hear as long as it benefits me and you're too stupid and ignorant to realize it".
John McCain is a man of integrity. I don't know if he can do much to pull us out of the mess we're in, but at least you can be sure he'll give it his best shot and he'll do it honorably. I don't have anything negative to say about him because there's just plain nothing there that's negative. Can you say that about the other two?

My vote goes to Hillary Clinton if she manages to get the party nomination. Her views most align with my own. Our economy bloomed under her husband and I think she could begin to pull us out of the recession. I think she is a woman who has handled her self with dignity in the face of one of the most stressful situations a woman can encounter. Her composure under pressure is very impressive to me. I could go further into specific ideas I support, but I'll just leave it at that.
If Obama wins the nomination, then my vote will go to McCain. I greatly disagree with him on a great number of issues. But he has the experience to lead this country more so than Obama. I'm not one of the dissenters that thinks Obama is anti-American. I think that is just a conservative attempt at mudslinging. That said, I feel like Obama has some incredible ideas for this country but no clear plans as to how to move towards those ideas. Additionally, I find that he has some difficulty connecting to the average person. He's made several comments that have rubbed me the wrong way (the gun/hunting comment) and recently saying he refused to do a debate in NC because he already knew what Clinton was going to say. Even though I had made a decision to vote for Clinton, I could have been swayed by what he had to say in the debate.
I also don't think its fair to say there is nothing negative about John McCain. All of the candidates are human and have made mistakes. I can rattle off tons of policies he supports that I don't approve of.
At the end of the day, the presidency isn't about who is the most positive or negative. Its about which candidate can lead the country in the right direction. I have nothing but respect for 2 of the 3 candidates but one represents a vision of America that I want to see become reality.

That was a nice way to put it Heather. Great Post! If Hillary wins the nomination then I'll support her instead than McCain. (I say support because I'm not old enough to vote yet). I think it's pretty obvious that I'm a democrat. Either Clinton Or Obama winning is fine with me honestly but I just prefer Obama if I had to choose.

I will vote for Obama unless Hillary is put up instead of Obama. Then I will vote for Hillary. Heather made some fine points about the economy.
I have nothing against McCain personally, he seems like a fine person. But I don't want years of the same stuff with Bush. Bush endorsed him. That automatically rules him out. LOL Not really, but a poor move on McCain's part. Plus McCain is too conservative to have the kind of vision we need to get out of the HUGE mess we are in with the war, the economy, our international image, global warming, health care, etc, etc, etc.

I agree Nikki and that's why I don't want McCain to be our next president. If he becomes president we will still be in this HUGE mess and he won't even try to stop the war. Nothing will change if he's president. It would be Bush again for another 4 years. We have gotten ourselves in a deep hole that we need to get out of but it's going to take time. I hope Clinton Or Obama wins because I think they will both take their time and SLOWLY get us out of this war and improve America in general.

As a Conservative Republican I would typically go the route of John McCain, but my support for him has been lukewarm at best. If Mitt Romney were the nominee he would have been my choice.
On the Democratic side I don't have a problem necessarily with Obama other than a glaring lack of experience.
As far as Clinton goes - I basically despise the Clintons. Bill was/is a weasel and Hillary is only 'using' him to further her egotistical political career. That would seemingly be the only reason she didn't divorce him after he left the White House 7+ years ago. During her time as a New York Senator, she has basically made it a habit of 'grandstanding' and stretching or fabricating the truths about a number of items. The person holding the office of President of the United States should maintain a high degree of character and the Clintons fall way short of the mark.
By default, I would likely vote for McCain.

I guess Bush hasn't been our best president, but you know, he didn't get us in this mess all by himself. I would have to go with John McCain, I'm scared to death of Obama, he talks about change but never says what, and who do you think is going to pay for it. Lots and Lots of skeletons in his closet.
