HSM has a Sequel coming out......

They are going to make a Sequel to High School Musical!!! Filming will start in Winter of 06 and will be released in Summer of 07!!!! Bill Borden, producer of High School Musical, said the film was originally planned as a three-part telefilm (as its predecessors Zenon and Halloweentown were). All the stars from High School Musical have been confirmed to return for the sequel, as well as the director and choreographer, Kenny Ortega.Some articles seem to hint that this movie may already be in production. According to one source, rehearsals started on July 8, 2006.

StoryLine

In this movie, Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) and Ryan Evans (Lucas Grabeel) try to break up Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) so they wouldn't be able to be in the next talent show they are having. One of the Evans' plans is this: Sharpay will pretend that she is drowning so Troy will have to go mouth to mouth with her (Troy is a lifeguard). At that time, Ryan will convince Gabriella that Troy is cheating on her.

woah that is a totally different plot than I first heard. But that one sounds much better than I originally heard

I heard that they go to drama camp and have to create a play, but a rival high school tries to tear them down and prevent them from doing that. I got it from a DisneyChannel group so I'm not sure where it came from originally
