Katharine McPhee is looking for new ways to make money now that she’s been dropped by her record label.
A magazine insider tells us the ex-“American Idol” contender has been trying to sell photos from her upcoming February marriage to Nick Cokas and was looking for the immodest sum of $60,000.
“That’s a ridiculous amount,” snorts the source. “She was turned down by People, In Touch and OK! magazines.”
The snitch heard that Us Weekly may have nibbled — but for a greatly reduced sum.
Are we sure Intern Adam doesn't work for that magazine? I mean, are we reacting to unreliable false gossip or do we know that is a reliable publication?
Notice that they are reporting what they heard from an unnamed source. Isn't that a way to avoid liable suits when reporting lies?
i have a friend who is like a HUGEE kat fan and this is kind of dissappoining because there are a lot of katharine mcphee fans out there, but im sure another record label will adopt kat haha shes Really good!

Wow I hope this is not true bout her wedding pics. but I do believe another label will pick her up and hopefully she will have better writers for her songs . she should do more pop/ ballads types . not the hiphop RB thats on her current album.

Frankly, I am inclined to believe this as it is consistent with other things she has done. Her judgment at showing a good image to the public is poor. That is why her label is dropping her, why even though she placed second at Idol she's not even gold yet, etc.

They didn't give the name of the "magazine insider". If they don't give the name of the source it is "an unnamed source".
I read somewhere that celebrities often offer their pictures to a particular publication because that cheapens the value of pics taken by the other paparazzi. This reduces their incentive to disrupt the event by trying to take unauthorized photos.
If that's the case, offering to sell the pictures makes sense. If they think $60,000 is too high the magazines can always make a counter offer. (You can always go lower. It's much harder to raise the price later.)
Regardless, we should pay little attention to what is published in gossip rags. It only encourages them.
