Should Gangsta Rap Be Banned?

A lot of the words to some rap songs are insulting to women, encourage violence and racism. Should they be banned? What do you think?

I'm not a big fan of rap but I don't know if I would ban it because people have a choice to listen to whatever they would like. I choose not to listen to it and I wouldn't tell anyone to listen to it either so I don't know!

i dont know... i listen to a fair amount of rap/hip hop because of hip hop dancing and now starting break dancing... i agree its bad stuff but i dont really think it should be banned

Rap is a complete wast in my opinion.
Barely any rap has good lyrics.

I voted to ban all of it. Why in the world would it be necessary for that music to even be available. Now I don't really care because I don't listen to it and I understand that people have a choice in listening to it, but hello rap music is not getting closer to world peace (I know, huge goal) it's taking it steps back and ANYTHING that does that should be banned.

If I had to choose one then it would be one of the bans. Ganster's rappers do NOT take responsibility for the damage that is caused by their lyrics. The young people that listen to that kind of stuff are very influenced by their songs and adopt that kind of lifestyle.
With freedom of speech comes along the fact of responsibility.

I remember the '80s when my music,Heavy Metal,was being put through the ringer.
As much as i hate that rap crap....i have to say "NO" to any form of censorship.

Yeah. Lots of people have turned out OK despite being exposed to the evil of K.I.S.S., Iron Maiden, etc.

I don't think all rap is bad. I actually enjoy some of the funnier stuff myself. But a lot of it is crap, and the racist, misogynist lyrics are worse than crap.

The crap rap should fade away on its own eventually, as it loses its novelty and becomes more mainstream.

But ... if you ban it, you turn these fools into martyrs, and that only strengthens it.
