A very pregnant Nicole Kidman braved sweltering temperatures arrived at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. Nicole is seven months along and wore a light grey maternity dress.
She and husband Keith Urban were all smiles as they rushed inside to escape the 115-degree temperatures, and witness what would become a huge controversy.
Kenny Chesney won "Entertainer of the Year" for the fourth straight time. But backstage he wasn't that happy about the award; he is upset that for the first time in 43 years, fans got to vote for the top prize online.
Backstage, Chesney sounded off: "I think it's a complete disrespect of the artist what they've lowered us to, to get Entertainer of the Year, to be honest with you."
The Academy of Country Music Awards brought out all the big country stars. There are a lot of newcomers, but it was the veteran performers that were the biggest hit of the night
Former American Idol Carrie Underwood won her second straight trophy for "Best Female Singer." "I want to thank the most wonderful family in the world," said Underwood.
And Idol runner-up Kellie Pickler debuted a new song on the show. Just beforehand she signed autographs for fans and looked stunning in a Zuhair Murad gown. "I am like drenching in sweat, you just can't see because my dress is so long, but there's a big puddle underneath me," said Pickler.
Newcomer Taylor Swift looked stunning in a Marchesa dress and Tiffany jewelry on the arrival line...but when she took the stage, she was drenched by a ton of water from above!
"I am so excited, I've never had that much fun on stage, ever!" Swift told reporters.
