^Honesty certainly may be the best policy, and to graciously accept constructive criticism is a very admirable quality, which I think Kellie unquestionably possesses. But I don't think it's productive to exaggerate a fault or to harshly judge oneself unnecessarily. Remember, in the "butchered" incident, it was Kellie that used that word, not the judges. Randy was simply going to say that she got a little ahead of the music, and then the very next week, because she had put that thought in his head, asked her if she thought she had butchered it again. So, of course, all the haters and bashers started saying Kellie butchered her songs. In my opinion, Kellie would have been much better served if she had just let the judges offer their remarks on her performance. Anyway I think "butchered" was a completely undeserved and inaccurate criticism of her vocals.

What Class!!! Taylor is in a class of her own; I am absolutely proud to be a country listener because this is what makes that music so good.
I have longed to see a young singers that are guided by morals and standards that have been taught and have kept them as their own and not keep them simply because they have to. Carrie has been the first person ever to show what kind of a clean singer one can be and still win; Kellie is the second person.
I have enjoyed the Humility of these two singers; it may be risky, but the show of humilty is sorely needed in the world of "bragging rights" and flare. I wouldn't worry too much about her doing herself a disservice, the audience will decide that.
Now is either of them better than the other? No, the two singers merely has different emphasis in their songs. As for creative song writing, again they match but different emphasis in their messege.
That's nice that Kellie is so complimentary of Taylor, but I definitely disagree with the part that "She's better than me". No way; Kellie's voice and stage presence imo is miles superior.
It certainly is Clay, very sweet of Kellie to say that, and I have to agree with you 100%. Kellie vocally has surpassed many and the stage presence is captivating.

If she had more experience in the music industry, she probably wouldn't have said she butchered the song. She probably would have minimalised it and said "I rushed the end". Period. But basically, she had practically NO experience and so that's what she said.
Frankly, I am SO glad she has done as well as she has. Although it's SO sad her label doesn't recognize what a gold mine they have on their hands and aren't promoting her properly.
I think Kellie was simply giving props to her friend and being nice and modest as usual. I don't think Taylor is better and I guess that's why Brad Paisley had both on the same tour. Taylor has about 5 times the promotional help though so her promo, airplay, and sales are much higher. If Sony BMG would do any marketing, just a few simple things Taylor's label did for her it would greatly increase Kellie's airplay and sales! Just one example, DYKHMILY is a stronger pop and AC crossover song than almost every song on all country albums and needs no modification for pop radio, yet Sony isn't even releasing it while Taylor's TOMG gets great top 40 and AC airplay. Kellie's fans saw her prove she is great at singing pop/rock crossover songs when she was on AI, and 2 years later the label "pros" still don't get it or just don't want to help?

Definitely. Kellie did not butcher the song. Randy put her on the spot by asking "What was I going to say?" and she had to say something and was probably nervous. Remember Ryan or someone said she nailed the same song in rehearsals.

I totally agree! Her people do not do a good job representing her at all. She could have so much sucess? I don't understand how they do not see that.
Kellie, has a presences on stage, like no other!! She's a natural, she gets up there, and just lights it up.
She has you from the first note, and doesn't let you go, you walk away def. wanting more. An hour feels like just a few mins, she is that good !
And her voice is unbelievable , while she's up there. There are some artists that live, that just don't sound very well at all. Or they are just mediocre.. NOT KELLIE!!! She sounds amazing!! There are few artists out there, that have what Kellie has.. that is why she will be around for many many, years to come!!!!!!!
