Nearly 30 years ago after a Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Board meeting the idea of River City Roundup was born with notes taken on a paper napkin. Yes, a napkin.
Now, what was created in 1982 as a celebration of the Midwest’s proud agricultural and western heritage has grown into one of the regions largest events. The four-day event includes a diverse offering of entertainment and family fun. The staple events include the ProRodeo Summer Finale, the 80th Annual Ak-Sar-Ben 4-H Livestock Exposition and the Douglas County Fair. This years headlining entertainment begins Thursday, Sept. 26, with Platinum selling country star Gary Allen. Friday features a fantastic double-bill as Blue Collar Comedy Tour’s Bill Engvall and American Idol finalist Kellie Pickler perform live. To close out the event on Saturday, Trace Adkins brings his first rate country music to the Qwest Center stage.
Just as it was in 1982 all events are free to the public, other than the rodeo and concerts, in an effort to provide fun, exciting and educational activities to all guests. Join us as we celebrate September 27 through 30, 2007 at the Qwest Center Omaha for four days of guaranteed fun.
