Kellie got the news from Rosie O’Donnell and the cast of The View during a Thursday appearance on the ABC talk show. “I was in complete shock,” she says, explaining that earlier that morning she had asked her publicist how sales were doing. Knowing about the presentation that was about to happen, he duped her into thinking her album sales were nowhere near gold-level. “My publicist tricked me!” she adds with a laugh. The efforts didn’t end there—the plaque that she was given was among the items her publicist brought with them to the show…and when Kellie asked him what was in the box, he fudged again and told her it was a plaque that he was bringing to The View on behalf of her labelmate Kenny Chesney, to thank the show for its support over the years!
