For Kellie Pickler, who finished 2006 as the best selling, new, solo country artist of the year with her debut album ‘Small Town Girl,’ filling in for an absent Barbara Walters on ABC’s The View is an opportunity to do the two things that come naturally to her: sing and talk.
“I think I was singing before I could talk, but once I started talking, I made up for lost ground. I just say what’s on my mind. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to other people, and sometimes it doesn’t make sense to me!” Pickler said. She is that rare combination of vocalist and personality, with her entertaining blend of zaniness and sweet likeability.
So next Thursday (1.18.07) and Friday (1.19.07), Kellie will join Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Rosie O'Donnell on set at The View.
Some of the guests for Thursday’s show are Juliette Binoche for her film "Breaking & Entering" and Raquel Welch, and Friday includes comedian Kathy Griffin and Les Stroud, who has a cable show (and book) called "Survivorman.”
In addition to her co-hosting duties, Kellie will debut her autobiographical song, “I Wonder,” a poignant and touching song about her relationship with her mother. Her current single, “Small Town Girl,” currently at number 17, continues its climb up Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart.
