My thoughts/experiences at kellie Day!

Kellie Day was a fun, long, but sadly anticlimatic day. I got up around 7, got ready and hit the road at about 10 til 8. I was a little bit nervous about finding it but I convinced myself it was going to be ok. The drive was surprisingly easier than I thought and I got there around 10. I immediately parked and got in the autograph line. It was kinda strange being there by myself and watching the other people around me. I had been standing in line for a half an hour when the cops moved the barracades and allowed this white element to pull up. It parked right in front of me and Kellie's dad, grandpa, and little brother climbed out. I was kind of in shock about actually seeing them all in person, it was like the first time I really realized that I was there in Albermarle. I waved and smiled at them, but didn't try to talk to them. I made polite conversation with the people around me and waited for Lauren to call. They got there around 11 and introductions and all that jazz were made. Then the crowd started screaming and I stepped out of the line to see Kellie standing in the back of an old Ford Mustang waving and blowing kisses to the audience. She cut her hair but it looks soooooo good! She went up on stage and I told Lauren and Carrie that I was going to go up to the front for a little bit. I pushed my way up to the front and managed to take a few pictures, but I was disappointed cause most of them were horrible, it was hard to get the right angle in between people's heads. There was this little old lady in the autograph line in front of me that had kind of followed me up there and she owned the portrait studio where Kellie had her senior graduation picture made. She told me that Kellie had never seen it and she wanted her to notice it. So I waited till the perfect time and then I called her name, she glanced over in my direction but couldn't tell who was yelling, so I called her name again and this time she caught my eye and I pointed to the picture the woman was holding up. It was so cute her jaw dropped and she pointed at it. The lady was so happy and I was so glad that I helped Kellie see it, because it clearly meant a lot to her. My batteries in my camera had died so I held her hand and led her back to the back of the crowd.

I stood with Carrie and lauren for a bit and chatted and then went over to the side to get some more pics of her as she introduced her family. I was really surprised by the sincerity and love in her voice as she adressed us all. She introduced her two grandfathers, her little brother (who is hands down the cutest thing in the world), her dad, and then her best friend. I was amazed at the openness she had when talking to us, not that I should have been cause she did that on the show, but to experience it in person was amazing. Then she sang the national anthem, which was absolutely breathtaking. She sounded flawless.

Then she headed to the autograph line, there were three little girls in front of us (I say that and yet they were in 7th grade) and they were so sweet and cute. I started talking to them about random things and it helped to pass the time, one of the girls asked me to go to Y day with her that afternoon, I had no idea what it was but they were really excited about it. There were adorable! After waiting in line for 4 hours we were next in line to see Kellie. I could feel myself tremble with excitement and then the next thing I know a cop has put his arm in front of me Kellie stood up. I heard her talking to her best friend saying "please, this isn't fair" and then "I can't just leave with all these people in line still." I swear she was crying by the time they finally forced her out of there, cause she was fighting to stay. I wasn't angry, I was just sad. It felt like something I had been wanting for nearly 5 months was going to happen and then right as it was about to it all fell apart. I'm so thankful that I was there to experience it, I just can't help but be a little disappointed that I was so close and then everything fell apart. Overall, it was a great experience because I say my idol upclose and in person.

aww thats too bad you didnt get her autograph but you were REALLY close...closer than i was...i was about 10-20 feet from her onstage.

wow that stinks that you were that close to her and didnt get anything. At least you got to go though. I'm sure someday you'll be able to meet her!

Kellie really is a sweetheart. She fought to stay. That alone would've made me feel proud to be a fan of Kellie Pickler.

I am so sorry you got that close, only to not get the autograph! But it is a good thing to know that Kellie tried to stay longer and sign more... says a lot about her heart and her character. Maybe next time you will! Thanks for sharing about your time there.
