Kellie In DC

I arrived in DC real early, around 8am. I knew the festivities didn't start until 1pm, but there are only 2 trains from Edgewood to DC. I took the early train because my paranoia told me to. **Good grief, suppose something happens to the 2nd train & I don't get to go**. So, there I was in DC at 8am. I left Union Station & walked to the Capital Building & found the west lawn where the AARP stuff was just beginning to setup. OK, so now I know where Kellie will be. I spent the rest of the 5 hours just walking around the city with an occasional stop for a cold drink & a relaxing smoke.

I got home about 2 hours ago. I'm tired and I hurt from all that walking......BUT, I DON'T CARE!! IT WILL TAKE ME A LONG TIME TO GET OVER THIS HIGH. I GOT 3 KELLIE HUGS AND A KELLIE KISS (on the cheek)!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Kellie, Josh, Ryan & Wes arrived at about 1pm, Kellie was pounced upon by folks with professional looking video cameras. She gave like maybe 5 interviews. During the AARP speeches and gospel songs Kellie was having a good time playing with a red umbrella that someone loaned her to block the sun (sun was powerful, today). She was dressed in jeans, a really cute blue top & red high heels. She performed MY ANGEL and RED HIGH HEELS.

Ok, now for the juicy part. Well, it was for me, anyway. So, Kellie is done and she's being semi-mobbed with folks wanting autographs and pictures. Kellie was more than accommodating to everyone. I used that time to introduce myself to Wes. He said, "You want a picture with Kellie?" Of course, I said, "Yes". Wes said, "Wait until that crowd is done and I'll take care of it for you". Ok, so I'm thinking, "Holey Moley!, what did I do to deserve special attention from Wes?" Anyway, I used that time to talk with Josh & Ryan. Man, what nice guys!!!! We talked & joked around for a good while and then I had a flash. I purposely wore my black Kellie Pickler concert shirt in hopes that Kellie would sign it. So, I said to Josh, "Ya know, Kellie gets to sign everybody's crap, you guys should too". He said, (teasing, of course, as I was) "Yeah!, that's not fair!". So I said, "I bought this special white marker that's supposed to write on black fabric. Ya wanna take it for a test drive?" So, he signed it and then Ryan came over to get in on the act. Ryan signed it. Ok, back to Kellie. She's all done with that crowd and Wes introduces us. She says, (with that great Kellie Pickler smile) "Hey! Fred" and she holds out her hand. I just looked her right in the eye & said, "Don't you know that boys & girls don't shake hands?"
She hesitated for like a nanosecond, grinned, and yelped, "THEY HUG!". She literally leaped at me & we did a big ole friendly hug. **I feel like I'm leaving out some stuff. Hey, this old brain can only store so much**. I think, then is when Wes took our picture. Then, I think, I gave out the gifts to Kellie, Ryan & Josh; Cracker Barrel Gift cards. Actually, I made a game of it. I turned them up side down & each picked a card. It was fun, even tho all 3 were of them same dollar amount. Kellie saw "Cracker Barrel" and exclaimed, "OOOOOOOO, I LOVE Cracker Barrel". As it turned out, it's the guys' favorite place to eat, too. So, that worked out perfect. That brought Kellie hug #2. We chatted for a while about stuff & junk (all 3 are very easy & pleasant to talk with. There's nothing phony or diva about any of them. Just on that thought, Wes is the same way. He's just one hellava nice guy.) Then, Wes took a photo of the 4 of us, together. Wes checked his watch; "Uh oh, we have a flight to catch".
So, we're saying our goodbyes. Josh & Ryan said that they'll be looking for me at the Frederick Concert in September. Then, comes Kellie hug #3 AND a Kellie kiss.
Wooooooooo!!!!! Ok, ok, so I'm an old fool. I know it, but it was still grand!

I'm gonna do the photos, now. I hope they turned out ok.

Oh yeah, Kellie signed my shirt in between where Josh & Ryan signed it. See, I told you I couldn't remember everything. **I'm still floating**

Yeah, that's exactly how i felt when i met kellie! it was amazing; hopefully i'll be floating again in July when she comes back to Michigan!

Fred! I am soooooooo happy that it all worked out for ya! She is the BEST and both Ryan and Josh are really nice guys. I will ask for their autographs next time I see them too. Great idea! Dont wear that signed shirt anymore!! lol
There is nothing better than a Kellie HUG.... and a kiss too! Welcome to cloud nine. I wonder if Kellie realizes just how much she truly touches her fans?? =)
