Support Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children at GrandRally
 The Third National GrandRally for grandparents and other relatives raising children will take place at the U.S. Capitol on May 7. The GrandRally will highlight the role relative caregivers are playing for millions of children and the support they need. Those gathered will hear from grandparents, grandchildren, Members of Congress, and two singing stars, country music singer Kellie Pickler, who was raised by her grandparents, and Patti Page, who is now raising her granddaughters.

I wondered why her website is not promoting this appearance. Also, the benefit with Trace Adkins last week in Nashville has not been publicized. Is Fitzgerald-Hartley/and/or Wes asleep at the wheel?

Rising country music star Kellie Pickler will perform at the third National GrandRally on Capitol Hill on May 7. Pickler, who was raised by her grandparents, wants to bring attention to the issues grandfamilies face today.

Kin raising kids focus of event
Grandparents and other relatives raising children are invited to join AARP, Child Welfare League of America, the Children's Defense Fund, Generations United, Grand Families of America and the National Committee of Grandparents for Children's Rights at the third national GrandRally, to be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on the West Lawn in front of the Capitol in Washington.
The event will focus on the needs of grandparents and other relatives raising children.
Kellie Pickler, country and pop music singer, will honor her grandparents and share her story. Visits to members of Congress are scheduled after the rally.
