Kellie Pickler, the country cutie, didn't exactly win over the "American Idol," judges or the audience with her brains. Her most memorable moments on the show were the times she struggled with the pronunciation and/or meaning of certain words, including "salmon," "minx," and "ballsy" -- the latter of which she apparently thought was a noun, not an adjective. She also made headlines during the show the due to her family troubles (her father was incarcerated) and after the show (her suspiciously inflated chest and un-Mensa-like performance on the rhetorically titled "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?"). But Kellie should get some credit for all of the musical success she's enjoyed. The fifth-best-selling "Idol" 'loser' of all time, she's not only outsold her former competitors Elliott Yamin and Katharine McPhee, but became the biggest new country artist of 2006 with her country-chart-topping debut, "Small Town Girl." Kellie recently won three awards at the live 2008 CMT Music Awards ceremony, taking home a trophy in every category she received a nomination in. And that's no dumb luck.

i hope with the new album Kellie won't get the label of "dumb blonde" anymore and people will look her more as a singer, i'm sure she will work on this after all the crap that she had to deal after the AYSTAFG, i really don't care about that very much, i love Kellie the way she is but i know that a lot of people don't take her serious and even make fun of her because of this, and don't even get to know her like us.

I saw this on yahoo news when i logged in. Kellie has become a true success story and an inspiration to so many who've become to know her. Miss Pickler is just the rare type of person,so many folks can learn from her,as many of us have.

Wow that is a mixed article... don't like the fact that it says her most memorable moments were her mispronunciations on idol... when i think of season 5 I automatically think of the "Fancy", "Walking After Midnight", "I'm The Only One", "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Lets Give Them Something to Talk About" performances not the minx, calamari, or salmon thing. But I love her talking about Kellie's musical success and her awards at the CMT awards.

Even if you include all the winners, Kellie is still in 7th place in sales among all Idol contestants! Does anyone know what Jordin's sales are at this point?

Well, I love it all........the musical talent, the "quirky" comments which are so original and so Kellie, her honesty...not to mention she is DDG inside and out.....her personality plus, plus, plus.....her extreme intelligence (I am reminded of her ASCAP award for her songwriting ability of RHH) Just Love That Girl and am so proud and happy she received the THREE VERY DESERVING AWRDS....

O I agree but I think that some of her performances were more memorable than her quirky comments. I didn't mean that I didn't like the fact they were talking about her amazing personality I was just saying that her personality was the most memorable thing about her on the show IMO.
