Is anyone else bugged by this???

I really am tired about all the comments/reviews where Kellie is seen as "just sort of a lucky AI finalist" who made good. I have seen Kristy Lee Cook mentioned as another Kellie Pickler, or have seen comments that other performers are coming to Nashville since a "6th place Idol finishers like Kellie can make it in Nashville".

What I think is this: Kellie is the real deal "diamond in the rough". I cringe when I see others compared to Kellie since I think she is sooo unique. She has the talent, personality, and charisma to transcend all other Idol contestants as an entertainer. I think it is soooo evident to all us Kellie fans AS IT WAS to Simon Cowell, Joe Galante, etc.

I just can't understand why so many others are sooo clueless. Kellie needed time to develop and grow. She is only 21 and just a little over 2 years past her "Sonic career" - and a few days ago was voted for BEST PERFORMANCE of the YEAR! This is amazing...........

I'm not too bugged by it because there are some bigger promotional issues, however I don't see the "Idol also ran" etc. comments in articles as positive. How about replacing those with "country music star"?

I hope that from now on, we see fewer "Idol also-ran" comments, and more "CMT Music Awards Breakthrough Artist of the Year" references.

Would love to see that but they give credit to Idol because AI really did launch her career and we should appreciate AI for giving her to us... sure they have mistreated her since she has been cut but still without AI she would still be a roller sktating waitress at sonic.

HERE IS A REPORTER THAT LOVED OUR GIRL !KELLIE PICKLER followed Ingram and was greeted like a star already...and she took the stage like a star. Besides her great voice and looks, the just-turned 21 year-old has an amazing classic country diva presence...a regal quality of a Tammy Wynette or Barbara Mandrell, the playfulness and unguarded humor of Dolly and the sass of Tanya and Lynn. And, it's all in one modern package that had the very young-skewing Paisley audience members rushing the stage to get close and cheering her sweet, and stylishly dramatic, moves she displays like a musical ballerina throughout her set. Amazing to see.

Yeah Kellie is unique but still she may not be a country superstar without AI so I just think that the comments about her being on AI should just be ignored... don't worry about them its really not anything to worry about its not like they are saying anything bad about her.

Usually when I read something about kellie it says something like "Country Cutie or Country superstar" then it says something about her being an AI contestant.

I have been hanging on to that quote, waiting for an opportunity to use it. When watching Idol this season , I keep hoping one of the girls will break loose and WOW the crowd and judges like Kellie did. They all seem like they are glued to the center of the stage. Remember our minx wowing them with her big finishes like in Walkin after midnight ? !

I know. I don't think Kellie is bothered by the references either. I don't think they'll ever go away completely.

But I think that Kellie has grown so much as a performer since her AI days, and was underrated while she was there. So, I'd like to see more references to what she's done since.

I can't say it bothers me right now. If down the road 3 albums a grammy and 10 #1's later they still refer to her as "American Idol also ran" then I'd be annoyed. Right now, its the most obvious accolade to associate with her. By saying she is on American Idol many people can go, "Wow, I remember her now. Gosh she has improved since then."
