Who was the private concert for???
Does anyone know who the private concert was for that Kellie gave on the night of the CMT Awards???? I have read many articles, etc. since Monday night and no one says who it was for. Just curious??

And it's such a shame she couldn't be at the awards show. It would have been even more wonderful for her than it was. Without knowing all the particulars, this scheduling snafu seems to have been very irresponsible on the part of someone. Of course, as has been pointed out, we don't know the reasons why this happened. There may be a very good reason, but it appears to be a big blunder.

I agree! Whoever set this up made a big mistake. Didnt the person or people setting up the private party look at a calendar??? I wonder if the person responsible thought that Kellie would not win any awards?? 
It would have been 100 times better if Kellie would have accepted the awards in PERSON! I wouldnt have been surprised if Kellie completly fell apart and cried as she accepted the awards! lol It was her SHINING MOMENT and she couldnt be there!  I realize we dont know the complete story, but I was not happy about the mis-scheduling!

They did look at the calendar, the problem was that when they scheduled Kellie to appear at the private event, the date for the CMT Awards was not yet set.

Could have, should have, would have: I agree it would have been awesome had she been there live; but I also think we should all be happy for her, which we all are, and just move on and help in whatever way we can, support her 100 percent in all her endeavors, and be positive, positive positive. Crying the blues will not get us or Kellie anywhere, IMO.

We don't know when the private event was scheduled. Was it before Dec. 11th, the date CMT announced the awards date to the public, 4 months in advance? 2008 CMT Country Music Awards : Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus : Late Breaking News Headlines, Videos Regardless, anyone could have easily guesstimated the date based on past year's CMT Awards dates in order to avoid a conflict. Also, they could have asked CMT for an estimate before Dec 11th. If TPTB really wanted Kellie to be at the CMT Awards I think they would have kept her calendar clear, the same that was done for all of the other artists who were there. Well it's too late now but this was another big opportunity missed. At least it wasn't a total loss. | |
