I read Wes' email before when Jessy posted it. Since "previously scheduled" isn't very date specific, I read it as 'set before the date of the CMT Awards', not 'set before the CMT Awards date was known or announced.' It could mean either way and without more information I'm not going to assume it was or wasn't. Also, most likely Kellie didn't schedule the concert herself because professionals book/schedule concerts for her. She has said during interviews that she "goes where they tell her." At least we agree to disagree and I've already said it's possible the private show was more important, although I think that's unlikely and again I'm not going to assume it without more info. Now, I really hope she gets to perform on the ACMs.
Whoever booked Kellie months early (from the private organization) made a very smart move- since her appearance fees are going to go thru the roof. I sure would like to be the one at the private event that booked the nights top winner of the CMA's

It's sad! She was accepting the award live in my home state, and I wasn't at the concert!! AHHH!
Although I'm a little selfish and wish I coulda been there, I do think her being at the CMT Awards woulda been a 1000x better. It was a mistake, I'm sure they were kicking themselves, but I'm sure whoever's party it was had a fun time...except not too much fun because I wasn't there. LOL

It wasn't a concert, it was private show. More than likely some company or organization hired her to perform at an event. It's not something fans can go to.
Does anyone know who the private concert was for that Kellie gave on the night of the CMT Awards???? I have read many articles, etc. since Monday night and no one says who it was for. Just curious??
I'm not sure, but I read something related to at&t a few days ago, I will try to find more accurate info.
And it's such a shame she couldn't be at the awards show. It would have been even more wonderful for her than it was. Without knowing all the particulars, this scheduling snafu seems to have been very irresponsible on the part of someone. Of course, as has been pointed out, we don't know the reasons why this happened. There may be a very good reason, but it appears to be a big blunder.
I hope whoever made that stupid decision got fired. When they realized there was a conflict and this might be a huge moment for Kellie if she won a major award, they should have immediately tried to see if they could substitute someone else for this private party.
But they didn't. Sorry, but positive thinking only goes so far. This should have been one of the greatest moments in Kellie's life. But she wasn't allowed to be there because somebody messed up.
Don't ask me to be happy about it. I think it totally sucks.

That's exactly my point, we don't know what happened.
I try to live by the motto innocent til proven guilty. Have your suspicions but don't cast judgment without knowing all the facts cause it may come back to bit you in the butt.
And I didn't mean to insinuate that people couldn't speak their peace. My comment was that generally I believe people should be given the benefit of the doubt unless we have all the information needed to make an assessment.

I am thrilled for Kellie too. But I agree, it was a missed opportunity for her. I feel like she got partly ripped off again. That is just the way I feel but nonetheless I am very happy for her. Just look at the front page of CMT website. No picture of Kellie on frontpage, yet she won the most awards. Ok, I got that off my chest & I am sorry if I offended anyone.
They did look at the calendar, the problem was that when they scheduled Kellie to appear at the private event, the date for the CMT Awards was not yet set.
I agree with chris.. we don't know when that concert was scheduled.. just because it was previous does NOT mean it was previous to the cmt date... i have seen so much bs since the awards as well.. like Kellie swept the awards,, most of anyone of the night by double, if u count the " life comes at u fast".. award..ect... then there are 4 .. but yet everywhere u look ppl are naming and mentioning taylor everywhere, and mentioning her first when it comes to the show and the awards.. when it was kellies night, she took home the MOST awards etc.. bad enough she couldn't be there. but on top of it all, she is gettin UNRECOGNIZED for her accomplishments,.. etc.. its crap.. almost every article i read mentions taylor first .. just not right.. Kellie won more then anyone .. and BEAT OUT EVEN TAYLOR IN THE " life comes at you fast " award... Kellie is gettin screwed in my opinion.
i also think,,, someone just didn't think Kellie would win.. and OOOOPS.. she kicked ***... real disappointment and shame.. she was not there.. can tell / see, she really wanted to be ....
still makes me mad... not fair..
