I think an EXTRA video would be a good thing for her during the Christmas buying season.
As long as it wasn't done in place of a video for whatever is the current single at that time.
My guess is that the Christmas video would be shown a lot in November and December and then disappear quickly.
It might be a nice thing if she had a video to fill the gaps between the videos made for her singles. Like right now, when we are all eagerly anticipating the TTNCAMM video and "I Wonder" has slipped out of the CMT Top 20.
Also, it seemed like the Top 20 counts were suspended for a couple of weeks during the holidays anyway. So, this would be one to fill the gap there and keep her in the public eye.
Yes Santa Baby should definitely be an extra video in addition to the one for the new STG single. Other artists already do this anyway, for example on CMT Taylor has 2 videos for Tim McGraw (1 live), Teardrops, live Picture to Burn (which hasn't even been released as a single), plus she has a new video for Our Song coming out soon. So I don't see any reason why Kellie can't have extra videos. Plus a video should help promote the Christmas album. Plus maybe Sony BMG could use clips for promotional purposes (internet and TV ads).
I agree that a Christmas video would be shown a lot in November and December and then disappear, however it could be shown again during Nov/Dec 2008, 2009, and so on since it should be one of the best Christmas videos ever made.
I voted "Yes"! I do think it would be an awesome treat for her fans!
However, keep in mind that making videos is not cheap. You have to hire a director(s), video crew, sound crew, actors/actresses, costume designer, set designer, etc. They cost $$$$!
Just look at "I Wonder" and "Red High Heels". They were done on the cheap and that's for the main single! It tells me that they're tight on funds. As such, to come up with two videos by the end of the year, they would have to release two mediocre videos to make economic sense.
I don't know where they're going to come up with the money if they add a bonus video as well as a high quality music video of TTN* Do you?
