What is it? Taylor Swift is nominated for best new artist (something) while Kellie had the highest selling CD by a new artist for 2006 and did not even get a nomination???? When I look up Taylor Swift, Ashley Monroe, you just don't find too much on these young talented gals....so what's going on????Kellie's STG just went Gold....she has remained on the crossover charts.....is that it? She's not enough Country??? Anyway, she deserves a lot.....am going to be terrible disappointed if she is not at least nominated for the Horizon Award this year.....Fans let me know what you think...Last week she had gotten 'bumped off' the voting board on GAC...had to email those folks...Am I being too much "mother hen" here?
Keep in mind the qualification periods for many awards run different from calendar years. Taylor's album released 1 week before Kellie's and her single way before that. Also, Taylor is a good guitarist so I think that carries some weight. However Kellie has the best voice, songs and album!
I think there' some type of performance of new artists in Nashville....there was a post about this a few weeks ago....and there was posts about why Kellie wasn't selected. The resaon I think, was that Taylor had her single out earlier than Kellie, and the selection may have been before Kellie's album came out. It was very unofficial and I am not even sure who made the decision. Maybe this is what you are talking about.

You are probably right Robert as anything now would be unofficial..There is one thing official and that is Kellie cannot be denied her status in country...
That's the one I was talking about. These performers were selected by someone in the radio industry, and my guess (and a guess is all that it is) is that they were selected sometime last fall, before Kellie had success. Would be interesting to contact someone in the organization and say "Hey, where's Kellie????"
