Farrah Fawcett sold millions of those posters that made her famous. If BNA was smart, they' captalize on that.

I agree. It's 18 months after the release of STG, and still no exclusive Walmart or Target bonus poster or songs. Sony BMG did those things for Taylor Hicks, Carrie, and Daughtry to help their CD sales increase, and it's a shame they didn't for Kellie. As I mentioned when STG released, I almost expected a bonus poster and songs, and was really surprised they didn't include them. I guess I should have known better since they've never even added something as basic as lyrics and songwriter credits, and I've never even seen any CD without those before. I sure hope they do a better job for her next album.

Well from a female perspective. I would prefer something different to be included as a bonus poster. I can't say these photos would be some I'd hang up on my wall. But I do hope there will be some bonus features on the next cd.

From a male perspective, I feel the same. I think this photo for that story is clever. Posters and bonus material are great, but one like this wouldn't be my top pick as the one to include with a CD right now. Kellie doesn't need hype and sex appeal to have a successful career.
I once went to a beer tasting sponsored by the local public broadcasting station. There was one called "Nude Beer". There was a picture of a scantily clad woman on the bottle. I remember telling my friend, "You know, I chose a beer because the way it tastes. If the brewery thinks they need to put this on the bottle to get my attention, I suspect it's not going to taste very good."
Doing a sexy photo shoot that is fun, clever, gets attention is great. If that were to become too associated with the music, people would get confused and suspicious.

From a male perspective, I love the poster... lol... but I agree that it wouldn't be the picture with the broadest appeal. It sure would get guys to buy her cd though.

I didn't recognize her either, especially the top photo. She is so beautiful, and so slender. Do you think she is watching what she eats, exercising a lot, or both?

A parent's guidance should be, "You can do that when you are old enough." I'm sure there are many people who wish their kids would follow the example Kellie set with her life -- including, when age appropriate, that picture.
The photo works in the context of the story that goes with it. And, to put this in perspective, popular pinup photos of major stars during WWII had more provocative poses.
Unless you are in Amish country, ANY trip to the beach would find MUCH more revealing swimwear. The choice of bathing suit is relatively conservative. There is no more skin shown than in those recent photos of her swimming with dolphins in the Bahamas.

By what I am seeing these days, not a lot of kids are lucky to have such guidence. Most parents are not at home till 4-5pm which means no one is at home when school is over and they are often tired. Many parents themselves come from broken down homes so what values they've learned comes from the streets.
From the languages I see kids speak, these days are full of explitives and most are apathetic and without respect. I had a friend who came from High school and according to her, respect for teachers is almost non existant. Sex among teens are rampant almost past 50%, even preteens admit to having sex now where is such guidence for these kids (1)? Granted, there are parents who do take time to teach kids values but what about the rest?
For those who have no parental guidence, they have TVs and movies to guide them and judging from the popularity of PG-13 movies, such great examples are few and far between. I frequently have seen too much shows that have couples having sex and guys after one night stands, and who can get "laid" tonight. What shows are there out in the media that are as friendly as 7th Heaven? Most are 90s comedies and none recent.
Kellie is an adult, I understand that. She is free to choose what ever she wants to do as an adult. I don't oppose her drinking as long as she doesn't get drunk and for this, she can wear bathing suits but this type what she wore is out of the ordinary. She looked like she can fit in a rap video with money carpeting the table. Ordinarily, privately among adults, this would be OK (WWII pinups are circulated within the military, but I doubt, not in the public where morality is still strong) However, she is a star and she has young fans, many of whom doesn't have parents to tell them this.

All I've got to say is its a parents job to teach their kids morals and what is right and wrong, it sure as heck ain't Kellies. If you don't realize what websites your child is visiting or what magazines they are picking up there are much bigger problems than seeing Kellie in a bikini with money around her.

Sorry Ray. All of those problems will still exist even if Kellie wears burkhas. It's just wrong to associate societies ills with photos of adults in bathing suits. You could ban photos altogether and it wouldn't make up for lack of parental guidance.
I should post some published photos of my mom in bathing beauty contests from the 1920's and see if there's any depravity to be blamed on those. (BTW, she was a 5 foot tall platinum blond too.)
And, do you really believe pin-ups were only circulated in the military? Even the famous Betty Grable pinup that was included in "100 Photos that Changed the World" by Life Magazine?

I just don't think this goes in with the mix... Cover of Guidepost Magazine, and attending the Christian Music awards and throw this in there???? I may get slack for this but I don't like the photos. It's NOT the bathing suit... It's the pose, setting and story linked to the photo that bother me. Any number of poses could be made of her in this swimsuit NOT to look so provocative. I did not let my 9 year old daughter see this because it is not appropriate. I do think it is the parents place to make sure that they know what their kids see and take in. I can't be at school with he all day, but I can direct her when she is not there. Speaking of parents, Kellie didn't have them, just her grandparents to do the best they could, and they did.

I have to agree with you on this post Heather. It makes all sense where it is concerned to have morals and values in raising children. Although i don't have my own,i certainly would not let a young child view such pictures. There are much worse things in life though.
