KellieBean Blend Tutorials. (56K warning)
(56K warning, MASSIVE tutorial loading up)
Alas! I've done it! I've finally finished my first two tutorials. These tutorials are exclusive to KellieFans.com and were made using Photoshop CS2.
Tutorial #1
+ Covers Basic Photoshop knowledge
Tutorial #2
+ Touches up on Basic Photoshop knowledge
+ helps create a KellieBean sig as seen in my current.
If you don't have Photoshop CS2, don't fret! You can download the trial (which lasts for 30 days) at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
Want to make lots of neat KellieBlends for 30 days? Go ahead, give it a try!
I'm also including the .psd file of my sig. .psd is the file that Photoshop uses, and you can open up my file and take a look at each step I did in this sig while you're looking through the tutorial. It's meant to help you in case my wording confuses you in the tutorial.
I tried my best to explain things thoroughly in this tutorial. I level both of these for Beginners.
Tutorial 1 may look confusing, but it's meant as a reference guide. In fact, it's more of a Beginner's Manual than anything. There is no sig tutorial in it, it just explains the tools and procedures of photoshop. This is a very helpful tutorial, and if you get confused on something while you're working on Tutorial #2, you can look back to Tutorial #1 for extra help. This guide will help you understand the tools and processes of Photoshop better.
Tutorial #1, JUST A REFERENCE GUIDE:

Tutorial #2 will be posted immediately after this post.

^ That is the download for the .psd, LIMITED TIME ONLY. Link is only temporary.

well i really failed at making this...On my photoshop, I don't have anything called color balance, so that really took everything away from the blend i made...Do you know if there's anything like color balance that will work?

Thanks guys!
Soccer, you have Photoshop Elements, I believe. I also have Elements. I have Elements + CS2. Elements does not have the pen tool or color balance, and the layout is a little bit different. Elements can do almost entirely everything that CS2 can do, but you have to find ways to it, because they're hidden.
Yes! there are things you can do if you do not have color balance! There is Hue/Saturation. New adjustment Layer = Hue/Saturation. Adjust the hue and the lightness on that box, but leave saturation alone. You can also make a new layer, fill it with a VERY dark blue color (almost black, but not quite) and set that layer to either soft light or overlay, play around with the layer settings. The main thing you can do is called Curves. You might not have it on your Elements, but you can download a free plug-in (I don't remember which site) that will allow you to use curves on Elements. (I had it on Elements- it worked wonders!) Let me know if you find it and I'll post up how to use it. Hope that helps.
Oh yeah, and another way you could do it-- Gradient Maps. Adjust the hue/saturation but also use gradient maps. I suggest a light gray with a very dark blue. Set the blending mode on that layer to soft light, probably soft light. Then use a black/white gradient and set that to screen. Play around with it til you get something similar. Remember, yours doesn't have to be exactly like mine! You could give it a warm feel (warmer colors) instead if you wanted, those are easier to accomplish on Elements.

Ooh, another thing you could do if you have Elements- use more than one gradient, and use many different colors!! Like, set one gradient on soft light, maybe two gradients (featuring dark colors) and then set some warm colors on a gradient and make the blending mode of that layer "Screen". That could also do the trick.
Thanks Lindsay!! I appreciate it. I'll work on some more Elements + CS2 tutorials.

^^wow thanks so much! I have elements. I always struggle with my photoshop cause they don't have a lot of things that most people have in their tuts. I'm going to go try doing all the things that u told me!
Thanks so much for telling me everything! I really appreciate it!
