This is tonight. I saw on their website that the last 3 performers will be Kellie, Jessica Simpson and Sara Evans. In that order. Now, I can understand why she would open for Sara Evans, but Jessica Simpson?? She's a brand new country artist with only one single out and hasn't even released an album yet.
And what's more confusing is that Jessica will have 2 hours to perform, whereas Kellie will only have an hour and a half. How does Jessica even have 2 hours of material? Unless she's singing her pop songs.

I don't think Kellie is the "opening" act...just the first of three performers.

No, there are actually many more performers than that. I was just naming the last 3 because those were the ones I was talking about. Country Thunder runs from Thursday to Saturday (maybe Sunday) and is a day long event.
If you go to their website you can see on the other days that the biggest performer performs last, the next biggest before that, etc. Also, they're set time increases the later they perform. As is the case with Kellie and Jessica. Kellie has the same performance time as Luke Bryan (who performs before her)--an hour and a half. And both Jessica Simpson and Sara Evans perform later and have 2 hours each.

the line up only shows the start times, not the duration. Will Simpson actually perform for the whole two hours, or will it be an hour and a half (giving the band a break)? We'll just have to wait for a review. Anybody going to this one?

If I were to guess I would say her people made a deal that the only way she would participate is if she headlined. She was the last one to be added to the line-up. I would be interested to know from anyone that was there what she sang. I don't see how she filled a 2 hour set.
