They don't want too many country artists performing. However, country artists do bring in the viewers. |

If I recall, Carrie performed last year.

It's strange that the only country act to perform is Rascal Flatts. It's kind of ironic since the only true American Music is country music. jmo

mmmmm????? Not sure what you mean by "true" but if you mean country of origin, we might have some others....
What about jazz? Didn't Jazz get started in New Orleans and Memphis? (not sure which was first).
What about Blues? Born in the Delta of Mississippi.
Grunge? California for sure.
Heavy Metal (not sure about this one but I think the first groups were US)
Maybe others......come on music experts....chime in please!! |

^ jazz is definitely another genre of music that was created in this country.
and i definitely don't see any jazz nominees on their list.
