Wow...I don't really even know where to begin.
This past week my mom and I roadtripped to Albemarle...lets just say we had an amazing time! I will try to start from the beginning but I might accidentally leave some things out. We started our drive about 6:00 on Sunday morning. Albemarle is about 12 hours from where I live so we drove about all day long on Sunday. We would have made it before dark but we were caught in some traffic...there had been an accident so we were stuck for about an hour. I'm not really sure what time we made it but it was pretty late...after dark anyways. We called Shannon as soon as we made it and got settled into our room. We hadn't ate supper yet that night so of course we made our way to Sonic!
After we ate we decided it was time for some rest...driving is hard work. lol But anyways, the next morning we drove around town for a while...went to the Vac and Dash to buy some Kellie shirts, stopped by the Music Store, and then we headed to the Brydhouse Florist to visit with Shannon. She was such a sweetheart as always! That night we went to JD Shucker's with Shannon and her children. It was great! The next day was the concert!!! We left that morning around 9:00 and headed towards Raleigh. When we got there we walked around for a bit and then decided to find the arena. When we got there we realized Kellie's bus was already there! We saw Wes so we decided to call him over...being as I'm kinda quiet Shannon had to help me with that one...lol But we asked him about Kellie and he told us that she was sleeping right then but that she would be out to sign and take pictures in a little while. He was going to wake her up at 1:00 because she had an interview later. So...we just kinda hung around waiting for the bus door to open. We were always disappointed when "One of the Guys" would walk out...lol They were teasing us.
But we finally saw Kellie walk through the door.
She walked right over to us and I was pretty pumped because I was the first one she walked to!!!! However, there was a mascot near her and she about flipped out. She was petrified of the thing. The poor girl was shaking in terror. She told them to get it away from her because she was scared of them because they reminded her of clowns. But after they got it away...I asked her if I could give her a hug and she said "SURE" so I gave her a hug and we told her that we had drove from Missouri to see her. Then she signed our things and took a picture with my mom as well. She looked up and saw Shannon so they talked for a bit and then Kellie kinda just went down the line signing and taking pictures. She is such a sweetheart! When she was finished they took her out in this really old dirty car. That kinda startled me because I thought it would have been a nice car.
After she left we walked around for a bit and got something to eat and then headed back that way. We were then able to meet Gordon...what a GREAT guy! He let us look at his pictures of Kellie which were AMAZING! A little while later the editor of the Stanly News and Press interviewed us!! YAY! (thanks Shannon
) About half way through our interview Kellie returned so he stopped and hollered at Kellie so she allowed him into the bus. When he got back off he showed us some of his pictures and then we finished the interview. He also talked with Gordon. We made the Paper!!
After all that it was about time for the concert so we decided to find our seats. When we got in we went and bought some shirts. Then we were able to meet up with Mike, Clay, and Allie. It was such a pleasure having the chance to meet them. Then the concert started! I am not sure on the order of the songs or even the exact ones that she sang...but I do know she did AMAZING as usual!! But then again when does she not....right? After the concert was over we all got in line to meet Kellie again! While we were in line we had the chance to talk with Summer! I was able to have my picture taken with Summer and then we finally got down to Kellie again!
We took a picture of Shannon and Kellie and then one of all of us. So I was able to meet Kellie twice in one day!!!!!! After we were finished we headed back to Albemarle. We missed our turn once....but we eventually made it back...lol
But anyway, the next day we just hung around Albemarle again. Went by Shannon's Florist again...and then that night went to Shannon's for supper. It was wonderful and great to meet her family! They are all wonderful people!!
On Thursday morning we headed back but stopped in Memphis to see Graceland and then headed back on Friday afternoon. We made it home about 6:00 Friday night. We had such a BLAST!! Sorry if I left out anything. lol I will try to post some pictures but I have dial-up so it might take a while.
