Chula Vista, CA - 6/29/2007: Brad Paisley's Bonfire Tour 2007 Review
Let me first start with our journey...
We left for the concert at 5:30 and by the time we got there, it was almost 7 because of the traffic. The opening show starts at 7. Later we found out from a security guy that was next to us that there was a police chase. The car that they were chasing hit a tanker and it blewed up so it created a huge traffic mess. A lot of security guys were late as well because of that. It probably explained why the security was so lite. They didn't really check anyone from where we entered. I could of brought in my HQ video camera or even a DSLR, but I only brought in my P&S camera because I didn't know what to expect. Looking back, I am actually glad that I didn't bring them in because I would have been too preoccupied with taking videos or photos and missed out on enjoying the concert and our great seats. I wouldn't have been able to screamed my lungs out and participated with the crowd. It was actually one of the best part of attending the concert, haha.
Once we got to the Amphitheatre, we had to wait in a pretty long line to pick up our tickets that were reserved for us at the Will Call Ticket Booth. It was ridiculous. We shouldn't have to wait because the tickets were already purchased! Nonetheless, I was simply estastic to see that my seats were awesome once we picked it up! They were center floor seats in the first few rows right next to the stage!
Unfortunately, by the time we got the tickets, Kellie Pickler, who is one of main reasons I went to this concert, already started performing We only caught three of her last two songs: "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You" and "I Wonder". I don't think we missed much, but I would have loved to be there to listen to her performances in their entirety.
Kellie looked HOT! She had on tight blue jeans and was wearing a white and really tight, flattering t-shirt. It really excentuated her curves quite nicely. She was lively and cheerful. I didn't notice any fatigue or any signed of her illness. Throughout her performances, she would regularly interact with the audiences by talking and bending down to touch the crowds with her hands.
I loved it when she sang DYKHMILY! This was my first time hearing it lived and I LOVED it! It gave me chills! It was that good! This song should be seriously considered as one of her next single choices. I like it much more than "I Wonder" and it was her best performance of the night in my opinion.
Kellie concluded her performances with "I Wonder". As usual, she cried during the song and walked off the stage with her head down and her hand covering her eyes Everyone started saying, "awww, it's ok Kellie".
I really enjoyed Kellie's performances. She did an amazing job. I wish would have been performed at night and had more dramatic lighting.
The final three performers as they appeared were: Taylor Swift, Jack Ingram and Brad Paisley.
During Brad Paisley's slow song performances, there were these blonde girls (about 4 people I think or more) in red hats that were trying extremely hard to get him to autograph their hats, lol. I think they were part of some girl crew or something. They were climbing the seats while he sat on a chair at end of one of the cat walk. It was pretty rude. Brad just ignore them, lol! Everyone was getting pretty annoyed and one of lady that was next to us was pissed off and irate about them. She kept yelling at them to sit down and stop doing it because obviously Brad didn't care to notice them. The girls didn't listen and kept trying and trying and trying, lol! You can clearly see their red hats in one of the photos I uploaded.
Brad Pailsey mention about Kellie turning 21 and had her first alcohol drink backstage and got drunk like a skunk, lol! I think he just joking around, but it was funny.
Brad Paisley by far had the best performances of the night. Mostly because he put on a great show with lots of special effects and lighting that brightly lit up the stage. It was spectacluar. For us being so close to the stage, it made that much more exciting!
It would have been a perfect night, except none of them autographed at the end of show! We waited and ask around, but no lucked. I hope we didin't miss it. By the time we left the concert, it was after midnight.
