Thanks! I'm surprised Taylor had more energy than Kellie and I thought her guitar playing would be her main advantage. This review says Miranda was the best last night, but it was up last night so the reviewer may have missed Kellie and Taylor I don't know.

It was a start and like I said, it was better than what I expected. Lots of people singing along and dancing so she done good and I think the whole problem we perceive is just exposure. As that increases, other things like sales and airplay will follow.
Interesting story. Dude at the airport that was checking our luggage saw we were from Albemarle and asked if we knew Kellie before she was on AI. I don't remember what he said exactly but it was something to the effect that they all just loved her and she was the sweetest thing.
I really think now that given a year, she'll probably do very similar to Taylor. This is Kellie first big tour and it's Taylors second so given some differences in how they are managed I think they'll both do really well.
btw. By more energy I simply mean that Taylor is a little firecracker on stage. Not at all the same persona, she already has a honed stage presence and if you ask me, that's the only thing that separates her from Kellie and Kellie will get that as her experience and confidence grows. If you ever seen Miranda perform live, well that's Taylor. Jumping around, slinging the hair, in some ways it was almost to Miranda'ish but it still worked. Kellie has energy mind you and she's learning to use it. It's all about experience, they were both fun to watch.

Nice review James! I am glad at least one of us was over there to get us coverage of the event!
Sounds like Kellie did an amazing performance! Has there been any video coverage of the event yet from other fans that were there? A lot of the photos that I have seen posted on the net looks pretty good.

I appreciate all your honest observations, Jame. Since we all love Kellie so much its really hard to kinda hear the truth as we look at her, I think with rose colored glasses. I agree, that the more experience she gets the better she will be. But not everyone has to jump around and sling hair; it differs from one to another. Kellie is a more blusey country singer; i think there are others who are more like that, don't you think?

And I'm not saying she has too, only that I think on stage anyway, Taylors experience shows a bit more. To me, watching her, she's learning what works for her and what doesn't and that's what I find most interesting about watching these up and coming artists, the progression. For instance, Martina and Reba were phenomenal, words can't describe just how good they were, yet that's what's expected, there is no marked progression only degrees of how good they are.
It's no different than Carrie, for me anyway. Some fans will say she is IT, there is nothing better it doesn't matter who it is. For me, I see her still progressing and learning as well. There was a night an day difference in her performance here last year to this year, it was a huge difference but that's come from experience. Kellie will continue to get better and better and watching her grow is part of the attraction.

Cool dude at airport story!
Yeah Taylor has played with Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Brad, and will also open for Kenny Chesney and Tim & Faith soon. I'd love to see Kellie open for Kenny. He's my favorite male artist along with Brad and Rascal Flatts.
I've noticed that Miranda rocks and you can tell from the CMT photos. Maybe it's just me but I've also noticed that singing guitarists tend to get more attention than most singers. Also, looking at those CMT photos Miranda dresses the most country. Reminds me of when Kellie wore those cool country halter tops on AI - I'm the Only One or Something to Talk About and Suds. Plus Miranda wore a lot of cool jewelry. She has more of a cool country rocker look. I know Kellie loves red high heels but we need to get her some cowgirl boots too.

I was at the CMA music fest, it was awesome. It was my first time to Nashville and I loved it. Kellie was awesome, but I wish she could have played more songs. This is the second time I have seen her, the first time was in Bonner Springs, KS. I thought she was great both times, but I was very disapointed that she didnt sign any autographs at the fan fair. Taylor signed two different times, and had a huge line so I didnt wait around for that but if Kellie wouldve been signing I would have waited as long as it took.
