A member of <a href="http://www.kelliefans.com/" title="KellieFans.com"><font color="#707070">KellieFans.com</font></a>, Jen (stardust081104), wrote this review of her encounter with Kellie Pickler at the Brad Paisley’s “Bonfires and Amplifiers Tour 2007″ concert in Champain, IL (pictures included following the jump):
<blockquote>So a week ago Clay told me Kellie was going to be in Menasha at some place called Waverly Beach. My cousins live in Menasha so I asked them if they knew where it was and they said yes and that it was a bar/ banquet hall. Its about two hours away so I decided that I wanted to go. I wanted a few people from work to come with me but they couldnt get off work, and Sawyer couldnt get in cuz its a bar, so my mom came with me :]
We left around 3:30 because we wanted to be there by 5:30 and we had to stop somewhere .. we got there around 5:45 and there was already a line but it was a pretty short one. We went inside to get our tickets and the door to get in where the stage was right in front of us .. I knew we were going to have really good seats. At 6:00 they opened the doors and it was just like a freeforall. We walked up to the stage and ended up in the second row, behind only these cute little girls. I could touch the stage. & they didnt have any chairs or anything, you had to stand, but we didnt care. Well the opening act didnt come on until 8:00 so we stood there for 2 hours doing nothing. I was so hungry and thirsty because I hadnt eaten basically all day but if we got out of our spots no way would we get them back.

So finally at 8:00 the opening act came on. They were called The Merge & had no affiliation to Kellie, thank goodness, because they SUCKED. They were the worst band Ive ever heard in my life. The lead singer was so bad I cringed through half of the songs .. & half of the songs was 9 songs. They did 18 cover songs. It was so terrible. But when Kellie came on at 9:00 it was all worth it. She was RIGHT THERE like right in front of us she kept going up and down the stage and touching everyones hands. and there are not words to describe how good she is live!! Shes entertaining and sweet and funny and EVERYTHING shes just so cute!! And her vocals are incredible!! She sang everysong off of Small Town Girl except for Wild Ponies & Girls Like Me and she also sang some ones from Idol [Im the Only One & Fancy & Walkin After Midnight] and she did Stand By Your Man.
The most memorable part of the show for me was when she sang I Wonder. She of course said a little about the song, and when she started singing she already had tears in her eyes. Being that close I could see all her facial expressions and all of the pain on her face and I cried the entire song. The little girls in front of me kept asking me if i was okay & I just could not stop crying. I dont think I've ever seen that much emotion put into a song in my entire life & it seriously just touched me. Luckily after that song she went into something fun [ Red High Heels I think ] so that made me smile
After Red High Heels we decided to go find the line for autograph signing, & also get something to drink because we were so thirsty. Finally we found the merchandise table and some people were already in line so we got behind them. It was pretty insane, they told us all to get single file and people were seriously almost coming to blows trying to get in line, no joke. Luckily we were in the first 75 or so people [there mustve been at least 500 total] and I got a shirt & an 8x10. The line moved pretty quickly but I was nervous because my camera had been flashing low battery all night .. of course just like at the Carrie show I was an idiot and didnt check my batteries. Well so my mom went up by the table and got ready to take a picture, & finally I got up to the table .. I put down my 8x10 and the cd cover even though I only wanted her to sign the 8x10 cuz I had to lean in for the picture. I said hi and explained that my mom was trying to work my camera & she was so patient and said its okay, & the security guard was like STANDING IN FRONT of my mom & i felt so bad because she had to wait so long but finally my mom took the pic and then I told her that she was awesome and that Shannon from Nashville & the CMTS said hi & she was like aww okay yeah! & she thanked me and then handed me back my stuff and she signed them both I was like awww! cuz i only wanted one signed but that was so nice of her!!!
Even though my batteries almost ran out i was able to get a lot of good pictures, I cant wait to develop them!! I dont really like how I look in the pic of me and her but I am beyond grateful to have even gotten to see her sing, let alone get the seats we did and meet her so its okay!! Thanks for everyone who wished me a good time and was happy for me, this was the best concert ever [tied with Rialto]!!</blockquote>
