Would still like to know if anyone has the "shipped no. of cd's"?....Really looking for platinum anytime now.
I suspect BNA's contract with their distributors for STG is adhoc, Libby. Hence i think it's not likely they will announce shipping platinum ahead of time. The way it's going doesn't seem likely that STG will sell platinum before Kellie's 2nd album. Not unless cd sales hit 8,000 to 9,000 copies per week from next week onwards. I believe there's like 35 weeks including the last week of September. However, i think it may sell platinum beyond the launch of her 2nd album. That is if they keep stocking it together with the new one.

This number is not "reported". No one other than the label knows this and they don't give this information out until they have the level for a recognition, i.e., 500K or 1 million.
I see people posting about shipments by BNA like they have some control over how many CDs they ship out.
I have a comment and a question about control over how many CDs are "shipped" by BNA.
I think that the label would act like any other manufacturing business. They ship in direct response to orders. They have no direct control over how many CDs they ship.
Most CD retail outlets probably order the CDs from distributors, otherwise they would have to deal with too many record labels. So the distributors would be one source of orders for CDs from the label.
However, I wonder if the big boys, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, etc, go through a distributor. I would think they order directly from the label to reduce the costs of a "middle man".
Sometimes people with label connections know the number shipped. The label does have control over how many CDs they ship. Just look at when they worked out a deal with Walmart and shipped about 300,000 extra CDs just to make Taylor Hicks platinum, and there are other examples. I heard Daughtry's initial shipment was 700,000 and I believe Carrie's new CD was over that. Of course it takes a lot of promo to actually sell those shipped CDs, and so far the label has not provided that promo for Kellie's CD.
In other words if the label wanted to make STG platinum and actually sell over 1,000,000 at retail they certainly could with more marketing effort. Just compare to the efforts made by Taylor Swift's label to take her CD 2-3x platinum or any other platinum albums. It seems like they are mostly depending on Kellie's TV performances for marketing

While Taylor\'s fans are happy for Kellie reaching the 700,000+ sales mark, please believe the ONLY reason the Daughtry fans at AI are congratulating Kellie is because they HATE Taylor Hicks and want everybody to pass him in sales. Very few of them actually like country music and have made fun of Kellie many times in the past. They\'re just using you all to make you think they like Kellie. If she was competing with their Rock Gawd, you wouldn\'t see any of this camaraderie.
Please do NOT believe all the good wishes that Daughtry fans are giving to Kellie at AI. They\'re using her, because they\'re so happy with anybody that gets more sales than Taylor Hicks. The majority of them made fun of Kellie while she was on AI and afterward. If she was competing with their Rock Gawd, you would not see this camaraderie. In fact, they hate anybody that does better than Daughtry when it comes to sales.
I hope the new tv appearances bring Kellie sales back up. I would love to see her sell a million copies by the summer of this year.

Someone said total STG sales (including overseas) is just over 800,000. If STG continues to pull in averagely 3000+ sales, that would mean another 60,000 copies. Would they certify it platinum? Hummph,,,
There are always different camps within any fanbase. It is also a given that nobody likes their favorite displaced. That's probably how hardcore Carrie fans felt when Simon said he preferred Kellie. However, the ones who loved both girls i think are probably for healthy competition. I'm sure both Taylor and Chris fans felt the same way. At least they are happy for Kellie. That should mean at least something.

Yup, Its me Amy I sure hope sales go up and stay consistent. They should certify her platinum soon because platinum is based on what was shipped.

That seems very childish to me thay they would stop supporting Kellie because of what simon said. I totally agree with you that she dosen't have control over what simon or any of the judges say for that matter.

Wow! That's right, Kellie is responsible for whatever Simon says. LOL! That's so hilarious. I was hoping there was more of the type who likes both girls to do well. Yep. I still remember some of the vicious things being posted over at other sites, which I've never felt the same about since.
Kellie is now the 2nd best seller from AI5. She passes Hicks and she will only increase her lead from there. A great accomplishment for Kellie given of the Top 12 that year 8 released an album.
We got the last laugh on the Kellie haters didn't we? I will never forget the cruel, personal, and hate filled attacks on her 24/7 during AI5 from the fanbases of other contestants. I mean they must feel pretty stupid now since Kellie's outsold them all except for one.
I was hoping there was more of the type who likes both girls to do well. I guess i might feel some negative feelings if it were the other way around.
