Things on the Move in Major Markets

According to BigChampagn on AllAccess.com (I am not familar with this service, but it's related to music download data, however, the top 30 lists by Big Champagne on All Access may be radio data - see my note at bottom).

Things is not yet in the Top 30 on the national market data, but has made some huge jumps in some of the listed major markets:

This is chart data for Things That Never Cross A Man's Mind. First number is rank "last week" and second number is this week's rank:
I'm not sure if "last week" is truly last week, or last week before holidays. In the top 30, 17 artists had dropped from last week, so I think these are legitimate jumps and not just related to holidays, otherwise nearly every artist would have jumped as they did on MediaBase.

Philadelphia 39 -> 19
San Francisco 71 -> 23
Washington, DC 30 -> 26
LA 26 -> 14
Detroit 37 -> 22
Chicago 37 -> 26

I really couldn't tell for sure what the charts are for by looking at the web site. It may be download data. Saw a lot a mumbo jumbo on the website. Maybe somebody can clear this up to give significance to the data above on Things.

Radio program directors should subscribe to this service. Maybe these radios will improve on their listenership, which i think is better than greenbacks (for airplay) to line their pockets. LOL!

Think of it this way, more listenership, more likely it'll be on advertisers' media schedules.

I've always found Big Champagne confusing too.

I look at it regularly and AllAccess Advisor and StreetPulse. AllAccess Advisor is particularly interesting as it gives the public's opinion on songs and IW was usually very high up in the top 10 throughout its run contrary to radio's ranking.

Kellie is back at present with TTNCAMM in the top 30 of Big Champagne (she was there sometime last year), see below

LW, TW, Artist, Title, (Index TW), (Index LW), (Index Move), (Downloaders (Cume))

35, 30, Kellie Pickler, Things That Never Cross A, 1.56, 0.288, 1.27, 87,123

Index TW is defined as current week's online popularity based on new searches and songs shared. 100 point scale based on #1 given 100 (Taylor S)

Index LW is defined as last week's version of above

Index Move is defined as difference between the 2 above

Downloaders (Cume) is defined as (Cumulative) Population by market, format, station who have this song.

Still quite confusing, but let's hope she rises.

As an addition to post above I have found a link to get to the Advisor without signing up for AllAccess. You can maybe do that anyway IDK. It's useful as you can see: trend plots, which can be saved for a song; see how it varies between male or female; age range and regions.

Callout America Advisor
