Can Anyone Tell me??????

Can anyone tell me why Kellie is NEVER mentioned, if seems, as the opening act for Flatts?????She is in quite a few venues the end of last year and the beginning of this year, but NOTHING.....noticed it in Country Weekly a few weeks ago.....Flatts opening act was TBA and Kellie was already opening for them....now that Taylor is going to be opening for them it is ALL OVER THE PLACE????Also, has anyone seen any coverage of Kellie's USO tour on CMT????Believe GAC is going to have a special "diary" of her tour in Feb....but expected to see something on Insider, but I might have missed it?

I have no idea why but I'm seeing Kellie open up for them this month on the 17th!

Maybe they need to make a lot of BIG noises to get pp to notice it. LOL! Wherever Kellie opens, it's always fullhouse, she doesnt need to be loud to be seen. I guess.

Of course, it is a matter of free publicity....which all artists can benefit from. For me, it was just another "slap".....don't understand it. Seems Nashville is full of high profile artisits who are not generous.

I agree that Kellie should get way more publicity than some of the artists CMT shows.It seems all the artists I like do not stay in the "limelight" as much.The ones I love are Kellie, Josh Turner, Randy Travis, Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, Gretchen Wilson, Alan Jackson, Shania Twain, Sugarland, Brooks & Dunn, and several others. I just think ones like Carrie, Taylor, & Kenny all have their money in CMT/CMA/ACM's pockets(not that I have anything against them,but it seems you always know who's gonna win the awards & be played on radio more than the others).

However, we really dont know what goes on behind the scene. There are pp running CMT. Those are big wigs we dont know about. Just look at they way Carrie is treated on the CMT board and by the Country Community. Taylor got as much publicity as Carrie did, and Carrie did win a competition in her case, fair and square. However, some of the things that were said about Carrie were way over the top like she was over promoted by the suits. So it's all right to be promoted strongly by smaller labels and not all right to be promoted by suits at Big Labels. I think it's all hogwash. What i'm saying is, there are things that went on that we dont know about. Maybe it's all about pp not liking city folks. Who knows. Prejudice exists whether we like it or not. It's very subjective and cannot be rationalised.

Agree with Amy....There is a lot going on we don't know about.....Just like big name artisit buying promos on country radio......remember Garth Brooks saying when his release IMMEDIATELY became a big hit....something like "success should be determined by the fans and not by folks on the other side (meaning behind the scenes)"...of course, he seemed to change his tune really quick....someone probably said something to him.....anyway....Kellie has us and we just have to keep on keeping on for her and for us....she is terrific.

Yeah, alot of negotiations are made at lunches and golf courses. Alot of the deals are forged at such informal and personal get togethers. The written contracts can be just formality with some.

I know, they NEVER say anything about kellie opening up for rascal flatts, they shhoood! im going to see kellie open up for rascal flatts feb 21st in ORLANDO im so EXCITED

I just heard an ad for the Rascal Flatts show that will be at the New Orleans Arena and they said "with special guest, Kellie Pickler". They also played "I Wonder" last week on that station, 106.7 KKND. I only heard a Kellie song once before on that station.

I have to agree with you Sara,and those artists you've just mentioned have an extremely low profile in country music.Shania Twain for one hasn't been in the public eye for almost 4 years now and is currently working on a new album.Nashville has always given her the brush off over the years,and that goes to Toby Keith as well,as he has struggled with Nashville executives and such.He is currently managing his career.Gretchen Wilson hasn't been in the public eye for quite awhile now,it's possible she's taken time for herself and family,she has a young child.Brooks and Dunn may as well be taken a good time off for the time being,considering they've been around forever in a day.Josh Turner is just reaching his way to success and stardom as he was recently inducted into the Opry Hall of Fame.
Those artists who've reached a high status in country music already will eventually slow down in their careers.Their getting the goods while they can.
