Just one more Idol on the top 200, and she's hanging on by the skin of her teeth: Kellie drops 194-200, selling a few more than 8,000 copies. That's a 27% increase; the overall sales level to hit the chart jumped nearly 30% this week. Kellie's total is now 679,000.

It won't even be that long. Sales are going to be completely inflated this week with christmas coming up. She'll also get a little increase the next week before all album sales go down.

She'll probably be at around 690k-695k in the next two weeks.

Yeah the Holiday bump is going to be in the next two weeks so theres a good chance she'll hit 700k.

I just checked out wikipedia, Harold Bice just made 700,000. Of course it took his second CD to do it. "See the Light" sold 30,000...pretty weak for a 2nd album. Comparing "Small Town Girl" with "The Real Thing", STG sold more by 9,000.

Good percentage increase. The problem as far as selling platinum is the lack of promo all year causing a very low base (starting) number before Christmas shopping increases kicked in - 1,900 on 10/31. This week Taylor Swift's sales increased from 98,820 to 139,000 (+40%). I'm also worried about sales starting after the next couple of weeks because after the holidays most everyone's sales tend to drop by about 50%. Hopefully this won't be the case with Kellie's album since sales were too low to begin with due to lack of promo.

It's good to see an increase. She's closing in on Taylor.

Taylor sold 400, up from 300, for a total of 698,000.

The race to 700,000 - who will be first? Kellie or Taylor?

I pick Kellie since she is on a roll. After watching the Today show and her Tonight Show repeat I can only think that 2008 is going to be even better for our small town girl. We look at who is ahead in album sales but we should all remember that Kellie has the personality that will shine over decades.

Good God, she just doesn't stall does she? Well I can't say I'm surprised, she's all the rage now-a-days. Kellie's sales are very modest compared to those insane numbers. Still, I have no doubt it's because of the low stock and expensive prices. People are much more likely to throw a cheap CD into a cart than one that is 14.99.
