STG #144 on top 200
There are still four Idols represented on the Billboard top 200 album chart, but one drops off and one returns, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The returnee is Kellie, whose performance of I Wonder on the CMA Awards was one of the highlights and boosted her Small Town Girl album to a No. 144 re-debut. It sold in the mid 5,000s, nearly tripling its previous-week sales of 2,000.

This is great new i think with are u smarter then a 5th grader this week sales will stay 5,000 plus for atleast one more week im so happy goooo kellie maybe she will be platnum by X-mas

ok somebody that knows more about this than me chime in. Am I wrong but wouldn't this be the perfect time to kick off a major marketing campaign? Am I missing something. I'm sorry, the increase is great and all but I just don't see it sustaining. TV this week might hold it for another week but come on, are we seriously saying that Kellie is only good enough to sell 5k to 6k a week?

Yeah... I mean 5k is great, but its not gonna get the CD to platinum unless she keeps selling at least that amount.

Notable Jumps: Last week's CMAs helped albums by Taylor Swift (+156%, up from No. 26 to No. 8) and Sugarland (+112%, up from No. 28 to No. 13) more than double their sales tallies from the week before; Reba McEntire also saw a 44% jump for her duets album, which ticked up to No. 12. Further down the chart, Miranda Lambert's criminally overlooked Crazy Ex-Girlfriend had a 45% sales gain (No. 181 to No. 131), and Kellie Pickler's tear-stained performance resulted in Small Town Girl entering the top 200 for the first time after being on store shelves for a year. (Meanwhile, Rascal Flatts, whose woeful show-closing performance probably made a bunch of people leap for their remotes, saw sales of Still Feels Good drop by six percent.)

I was hoping for more but in retrospect, I am happy. Her CD, which is buried in the shelves in most stores, sold nearly triple it's ammount. The sudden boost in sales, might get her CD restocked. I think with 5th Grader she'll maintain the 5k and then the week after that is blackfriday boost, so she just might stay in this until the end christmas season.
I don't know about her hitting platinum by this xmas, but she's definately on track to get to around 700k.

It's always a good time for a major marketing campaign. But where exactly do you begin? The label is unlikely to shell out cash for advertising an album that is more than a year old. The talk show circuit is also out because of the writers strike. The best you can hope for are high profile appearances like the Dallas halftime show this Thanksgiving weekend, but I doubt Kellie has that kind of clout. |

Those are her numbers from Current Country Albums 11/04/07 , so somewhere around 650k?
