Country Singer Miranda Lambert Accused of Assaulting Non-Fan

Miranda Lambert -- a finalist on the 2003 season of "Nashville Star" -- is accused of assaulting a woman just because she didn't know who Lambert was!

Aisha Esbay, the alleged victim, tells TMZ she was sitting at a bar with friends when one of them recognized Lambert and wanted a pic. Esbay approached Lambert, said she didn't know her but her friend wanted a photo.

Lambert, Esbay says, was pissed, and shoved her into a bar stool -- multiple times.

Smith County Sherrif's Dept. tells TMZ they're investigating. At worst, they say, it will be a class C misdemeanor -- kinda like a violent speeding ticket.

Lambert's reps tell TMZ they're in the dark about the whole thing.

Why would anyone let someone else shove them "into a bar stool multiple times?"

Instinct says you either fight back or move away.

Something doesn't add up here.

I think it's just someone who wants to get some money out of Miranda.

If I were that person I would deff defend myself. I think this person knew miranda had money and they wanted some. Shame on them.

Of course we have to take stories like that with a grain of salt. We have no idea what really happened, if, indeed, anything actually did happen. If an incident did take place the complainant herself may have been the instigator.

I don't think Miranda will go to jail, it's not THAT serious but this will go on her record. I hope she won't have a criminal record.
