Looks that way...Clarkson's "My December" isn't much to brag about. I've listen to every track twice...it was enough for me.

Yeah, it's stalled in terms of sales. That's the problem with with any type of product. Sooner or later supply will catch up to demand and you're left with inventory buildup and that creates debt (negative money). Every company experiences the same problem and they have to keep coming up with new products and cut cost because they cannot help it. All that everyone needs to do is check the stock market where 100 of 1000s of companies are publicly traded everyday and 100 of millions of dollars are being made/lost and they all go to this cycle. Check Starbucks, Yahoo, Cisco, etc. over last 10 years or so. The same happen with the housing market. Understanding how company works and their business model will tell you that companies can care less about their employees, unless of course you make money and then you become their best friend As such, never be too comfortable working for someone else.

First off, I do like Taylor Hicks. But this really is'nt a surprise at all. After he won AI5, I never thought his act would translate to cd sales since he was more popular for his stage performance as a whole rather than for his singing - I think the 'salt and pepper' up top helped him too.

In some ways it's sort of like Richard Simmon's trying to sell a "Sweatin' to the Oldies" workout on CD rather than on DVD. It just does'nt work as well if you don't have the visual thing going on.

PS - Nope, I don't watch Richard Simmon's workouts. But his collection of "Sweatin' to the Oldies" titles came out today on DVD and I had ordered it for my business. Seemed like a good example to use ... sort of.

I feel bad for Taylor, even though I'm not his biggest fan...he's o.k. But anyways...I don't think his record label did as much as they could have to promote his album.

Remember he won first place so he was given exclusive promotional time as part of the winnings. The same with Ruben. He was heavily promoted ALL over the place at the very beginning. I even remember Kellie Picker made a joke about that during the time Taylor was looking for a girl that he spotted looking at him on the plane. He did several commercials for Ford, but, unfortunately, Ford was tanking as well in sales so that gig was a wash for him.

Incidentally, I had a a feeling that he's wasn't going to make it far because when I was attending the Idol Tour concert with Kellie in Anaheim, a couple of people I met there told me that he was shrewed compared to Kelly Clarkson, who they also met once at a gig, but she was very friendly. He didn't like signing autographs for people or interact with them! Maybe it was his personality. Right there, I know he's not going make it far. I heard the same thing about Katharine McPhee from Myriam.

I thought Taylor Hicks would get dropped because he doesn't have a huge fanbase.

With Kellie you get the country fans: the adults/higher, the teenagers, the country kids (like me!)

And Chris Daughtry you get all the mainstream and rock fans, which is basically adults, teenagers and kids.

Taylor was mostly "cute" and "funny" to all the older adults.
I thought I heard Katharine McPhee was dropped too....

Both didn't have good songs or singles as well.
