I'm sick of the both of these being in the news. Everyday, we get to hear about the latest updates on Paris and her new home, jail. I don't care. I didn't care about her before hand, yet the news is somehow convinced that this is something I should know. Personally, I was voting for the chair but apparently I wasn't actually part of the sentencing process and wasn't made aware until afterwards. I can't stand her, but even if I didn't have this extreme hatred toward her, we don't need to know what she's doing in jail. Move on. Talk about something that's actually, oh I don't know, important. Even a hamburger helper recipe is more news worthy than this. It's almost as irritating as the petitions and people complaining, wanting her released. Look, if it was you, you'd be in jail. I've heard people say that "Well, the police have stopped me and I should have gone to jail but they let me off". That's no excuse. Because you got let off doesn't mean that everyone should. In fact, you should have gone to jail, too.
The news has also launched this odd campaign to inform everyone that MySpace is only full of sexual predators who will kidnap your innocent angel children through your modem. Again, more false news. MySpace is not overflowing with sexual predators, other than the ones your kid goes to school with and talks to daily on the bus. MySpace is however, full of lots of people with horrible taste who become amatuer (and that's even a stretch) web designers who have helped to uglify the internet with their bright colored text on bright colored backgrounds, ensuring that you will have to wear sunglasses in order to view their babblings about how they wish they had long hair instead of short hair. It's become a home for people to have pretend friends, add bands who don't care who you are but instead use you as a marketing tool to spread their bad music to your other fake friends, and enabled a belief that it's actually your web site. It's not. It's your profile. I remember them doing this before, only it was called Yahoo!. It's the same thing. I would be willing to bet that there are more threats on your street than there are on MySpace. Know how? It's out there. Most of you lie on the internet when you join sites, too scared to even post your name because you're under the belief that you are the only Julie Smith in the world. My name, address, even my phone number are online in Whois searches and I've yet to be attacked by the millions of mass murdering sociopaths who Katie Courick is convinced is out to get me. The other day I saw that MySpace is supposed to be giving out the information about it's registered sex offenders, as if any of them thought "Yes, I'm going to use this tool to do terrible things, and give my real name and address." What are you, freaking stupid?! Quit it! The internet is not even a tenth as horrible as the things that happen in your own town, so stop trying to convince me that I'm going to log on and die.

Does anyone even CARE about Paris Hilton anyway? Or does the press just THINK we all do and therefore they can't shut up about her? What has she done that could be considered worthy of celebrity? She shows up at parties and generally acts like a ho. That's it. She has no talent. Please just go away already.
The bad press myspace gets is ridiculous. I've been on myspace for.. probably a year now and I've had my share of obnoxious messages, but those all stopped after I made my profile private. Basically, nothing will happen to you on myspace if you're not a complete idiot. ie, as long as you don't give out your personal information to or agree to meet complete strangers, you're fine. and that's just common sense, although there are people lacking in that. I do think that perhaps 11 year olds should not have myspaces, but that comes back to parents not watching them, not the website. Mom and dad need to make sure they know what their kid is doing on the internet, and stop blaming everyone else when their kid does something stupid.

Paris is still, unfortunately, on the "A" list and that's why the press loves her. One day her 15 minutes of fame will be over just like Tera Reid, lol. Remember her? Don't worry if you don't because no one does anymore, haha
