Hazel Smith is fighting cancer
Journalist and CMT host Hazel Smith is battling endometrial cancer, and she's wants to share her experience with other women.
Hazel was diagnosed in early April and had surgery on April 13. She's improving every day and will begin six weeks of radiation in June. She knew something was wrong, but doctors found nothing with a pap smear, exam or biopsy. "They never found anything until I got the D&C," she says. She recommends not taking no for an answer.
The colorful character is not yet able to return to work. "I can't do anything yet; I wish I could. My family has been indispensable. They have helped me hand and foot without complaint."
