Unless you're really into R&B, this looks to be a really boring season.

Other than Kellie's appearance Thursday, I'm taking a break from Idol for a few weeks until they whittle the field down to at least 12.

About the R&B thing, I wonder if the powers-that-be are on some huge ego trip.

They've had two R&B winners in five years, and both are commercial flops.

So maybe they are out to prove they CAN produce an R&B superstar.

I agree. I'm pretty sure Katharine is "R&B" too so I definately agree with you when you say they're trying to prove they can produce a successful R&B singer

Now that does make sense to me! I was thinking there must be some reason they were pushing R&R so hard when it hadn't done that well before on Idol!

Egotism! Yeah, that would explain this season perfectly!

I was mad Bailey didn't make it, but glad she didn't because this year is the year of the divas. Melinda will probably win.

I think Idol wanted to get away from this rock/country frenzy. Yes, they did pick Gina, however she has chops and can do ballads amazingly.

Trust me, We haven't seen the last of Bailey Brown. She'll be back next year and will be a ringer for the top 12.

How is this season lame? There are about 5 or 6 girls will AMAZING voices. Who cares if they aren't friggin country. Season 3 was the best season because of the vocals and performances. Season 5 was probably the worst by far.

Season 1 - Lot's of bad people. Kelly & Tamyra were friggin amazing tho.
Season 6
Season 2
Season 4
Season 5

Ironically, Season 4 & 5 were the worst, yet two of my favorites from all time were in them (Carrie & Kellie)

I actually disagree with that because I thought Season 4/Season 5 was the best season (also the most popular as well). Season 3 in my opinion was the WORSE season AI could ever had. Season 6 would have to go in 2nd place (unless they can top season 3 as the worse). But yeah this will be a LONG BORING season.

i agree with you on this ashlae! i think season 4 was great and it had the best winner! i loved season 5. it was my favorite. it had the best group of singers plus it produced pickler!

You guys are kidding me? Season 4 and 5 were horrible. Season 4 probably had the worst group of girl singers in the history of the show. Granted, Carrie and Vonzell were amazing. Season 5 had the worst final 2 and winner. Neither of them could carry the ABC's in tune and Kat couldn't get through a performance without screetching and Taylor couldn't get through one without convulsions. Some nights on season 5 they wasn't ever a good performance.

I am one of the biggest Pickler fans I can even admit some nights on idol she flat out stunk.
