**September 7th: My Experience with the Idols at Nokia Live at Grand Prairie!!

Here is before the concert, the whole thing was too long, LOL!!

Sorry it took so long guys!!! I'm a guy who likes to remember every detail and I JUST finished this!! Here it is enjoy!! It's very long, but... And I will be scannin pics later, but I have 100 to go through, LOL!!

MY EXPERIENCE AT AMERICAN IDOLS LIVE
SEP. 7th, 2006 NOKIA LIVE THEATER AT GRAND PRAIRIE

Way back in May (It was just after the American Idol Finale) I was jumping, screaming the American Idols Live Tour had added a tour date for Grand Prairie. I ran downstairs to tell my Mom and we set the date to buy tickets the second they came out. On that Saturday we sat down at the computer and gambled with Ticket Master. The first tickets we were given were seats in the 3rd section. Not bad, but not great, we passed them up. Then we found tickets in section 2, GREAT!! WE bought them, but on the receipt it said section 309. Why? We called and they said the section 2 was still available and we were put on hold, after they came back the tickets were gone. While on the phone we were still searching Ticket Master and after hanging up the phone we found some even better seats in section 2!! We bought them. We called Ticket Master and canceled the other tickets and stuck with the good section 2 ones!! I was happy for the rest of the day, I went to my room and listened to Walkin' After Midnight by Kellie Pickler and thought about what I wanted to do. I had a while to prepare for the concert, during that time I made my outfit, all pink, pins, buttons, and ribbons, also pink for the shirt, bracelets, and bag to hold the concert stuff in, pink glow sticks. I got almost everything I needed in advance. I made my Mom and sis (Jasmine) shirts too to match mine and got Kellie a spectacular gift (Items listed below). I was pumped and I counted the days from a month, two weeks, next week, two days, and tomorrow. The day before Grandmother took my to Wal-Mart and I purchased EVERYTHING else I needed, I bought some shorts that my Mom and I dyed in the night, some stuff to write on the car (Listed Below), and some finishing touches for my gift. I came home, got ready and packed, took a shower, and tried to sleep. The clock hit 12 and the concert was approaching!!

8AM: I woke up and finished up some things before we left. Jas and I spray painted our hair pink and I got my pink outfit on. We decorated the car (Back: Picklers#1Pickle; Left Side from Back: Kellie ((Pickle)), Our Idol; Right Side from Back: An Idol at Heart, I ((Heart)) Kellie)(We tied pink ribbons on the door handles of the car as well) and packed our things. We couldn't wait another minute so we took TV dinners in the car. I dropped my fork and then left my TV dinner untouched for the whole drive, that was all that I would have eaten until 6 that night.

10:30AM: We loaded up and headed out.

11:15AM: We arrived at the theater and parked in a nice spot. We followed a lady that worked there and asked her about Meet and Greets. She went into the administration building and came back and said that the PR said they weren't doing Meet and Greets. Like I believed her, LOL!! We walked to the front and paced up and down and then an usher came out and we made small-talk and hinted around to Meet and Greets and he said he thought they'd do it but that you'd have to already have the passes. Then he went inside to help some Poptarts guys. Then, two ladies, that worked there, came out to smoke. One of the ladies said that they weren't doing Meet and Greets.

12PM: Another lady came from her car parked in the front of the theater; she was a Taylor Hicks fan. She mentioned that she heard that the Idol's bus arrived between 1-2PM. She was very nice and we talked for a while (and told her why we weren't in school- because we were home schooled) and then (at 1:30) noticed a bus coming and we followed it to the back/West Gate where they had a chained link fence and you could only get through/in if you had a pass.

1:30PM: The Taylor fan got in her car and drove to the West gate and Mom, Jas, and I walked to the gate. When at the gate there were two women (sisters we think) back there waiting for the idol's arrival. The women had been to all of the American Idol Tours except the first season. They said that last year the bus arrived at about 2:15PM. There were only six of us waiting, but by the time the idols arrived there were about 20. Throughout the whole time thereafter, there were between 20-30 people max. We waved and then found out from the security guard that it was not the idols; it was the Kellogg's bus. We kinda figured that because it parked hidden behind the gate. What was sad was that the lady that was there with us at the beginning didn't get Taylor's autograph. She had to leave.

2PM: People start to arrive and pretty soon there are six of us waiting for the buses.

2:15PM: Three buses pull into the gate and they park. The girl idols (Kellie, Mandisa, Kat, Lisa, and Paris) go inside and we get pics of Kat. A guy came over and told us the girls weren't coming out and if we have any gifts he'll deliver them. Jasmine and I gave our gifts for him to give to Kellie. He searched through them and a Kat fan gave a gift for him to give to Kat. He asked us if there was no school today and we told him we were home schooled and he went to take the gifts in (He later told the girl who gave Kat the gift that Kat was touched and told us that Kellie was doing a promo and hadn't gotten it yet). Then Ace comes over and signs autographs and takes pics through the gate. Ace is soooooo sweet, the sweetest of all the guy idols!! He says he'll tell Kellie I'm waiting and I'm in all pink!! He said that Kellie may not be there if she flew to Nashville to record her album and we answered that she had already gone in!! We told Ace to come through the gate and he asked if it was open, but he never came out, he said he felt like he was in prison, and my Mom said we won't bite and he said he wasn't afraid of us!! Ace is also very handsome in person, LOL!! The Chinese lady that gave Kat a gift asked Ace if she would do a gangster pose through the gate for a picture and he did it!! Ace said he was half-way through an album!! A girl took a picture with him and held his hand through the gate and looked like she was about to faint. Someone through a gift over the gate for him and he ran and caught it and he climbed the fence and was handed the gift. My Mom told Ace that he was really sweet and he said, "I'm workin' on it!" I GOT HIS AUTOGRAPH (On a picture that he said was cool) AND HE PUT MY NAME ON IT TOO!!!! By then I was excited to have an idol's autograph.

Then after maybe 15 minutes later Bucky comes over and he actually comes out of the gate!! Bucky was sick and couldn't talk much, some lady asked if he'd say hello to some one on the phone and he said he can't because that's how he was sick (From it now). Bucky is all smiles and very friendly, but he doesn’t talk much. He did say that our matching pink outfits were cute!!! So I got his autograph and a pic with him!!

Then maybe 15 minutes after that Chris arrives from out of town in a small black town car and goes inside the building and then comes back out and comes outside of the gate!! Chris signs autographs and takes pics and he did so with me and Jas. He was the second sweetest of the guys. My Mom asked him if he'd take a pic after he signed Jas' picture and so he leans into Jas and doesn't realize that I was standing waiting, he looks over and says, "Oh sorry man didn't mean to leave you hanging!" And everyone cracks up, LOL!! Chris told us he was releasing his album November 21, 2006!!!

Then Taylor comes out and EVERYONE IS HYSTERICAL, LOL! He also comes outside of the gate and when he does a cart needs to get in so we all have to move out of the way of the gate!! He signs autographs and took pics so I got him to sign my CD and a pic. Jas tried to get him to sign a $1 bill that Ace, Bucky, and Chris had signed, but he said he didn't sign money!! Taylor goes in and comes back with a football and starts throwing it with one of the crew members. I got a great vid of him and my Mom took some pics too!! Between Taylor's and Elliott's signing, since there was so much time in between, Mom went up to the front and went in to get some ice and also asked about meet and greets. The lady said that Kellie would have to approve the request and then I could get in. I went to the front and couldn't find the lady so I went back to Mom to find out who she was. I went back to the front and they were almost all gone. I talked to two young ladies with MIX shirts on and they said they didn't have meet and greets. I headed back to the west gate and told my Mom what happened. She was there talking to the lady who designed Kat's poster and T-Shirt.

Elliott made us wait the longest and after about an hour Elliott FINALLY came and signed autographs through the fence, he singed a pic for me and we took a pic of him through the gate. Elliott is much shorter than I thought he was, just a side note, LOL!!

During autograph signing: We asked the guy who gave Kellie our gift if, since the girls weren't coming out, he could get Kellie to autograph something for me, and he said YES!!!! So I got my official Kellie shirt autographed!!!

She's so sweet and I'm REALLY glad that guy was so sweet and did that for me, Jas also got a Kellie pic autographed!! We got a pic of Kellie while she was coming from the tour buses inside the second time. She did a double take on our pink outfits and if I could go back I'd have yelled, "I LOVE YOU KELLIE!!" She waved and said hi and a girl next to us told Kellie to wear the bandana that she had put in Kat's gift and Kellie replied "What bandana" and the girls said Kat has it and to consider it and Kellie said, "OK," and went in. I'm so jealous that girl had a conversation with KELLIE!!!! For some reason Kellie looked tired and I don’t know why, but it must have been between the album and tour!!

4:50PM: We walked to the front of the theater and stood by the doors on the porch area. We talked to some people and took our pic with the Poptarts/idols trailer. Many people we had seen and met throughout the day were there, we even talked to the girl who designed Kat's T-Shirt and poster, but they left before the concert because their tickets were for tomorrow. She was there for Meet and Greets but must have been on the list for September 8th!! We also went down to the MIX 103.9 table and got freebies!! Some weird people started protesting against Taylor, using MIX's blow horns, but no one really cared, they just got on our nerves!! Some lady asked us if we had water and that she'd pay us if we did and we told her she could ask to go the bathrooms and get in and she said, "OK, I'll tell 'em I'm about to pee in my pants!!" LOL, that was funny!! Some crew people came and took pics for free and put them on cards for us to view on the computer (This is also the case with my pic in front of the idols cut-out). I had the camera in my bag and I was afraid I would have to walk all the way back to the car if they found it so I took it back before the show and got back JUST IN TIME!!! They opened the doors as I walked up the stairs so I hurried back to Mom!!

6PM: We got to go into the building. They checked our bags, my sis had a bag that wasn't checked good, my Mom had a bag that was glanced in and I had to move the poster over in mine so she could see thoroughly, LOL, I coulda sneaked a camera in, but oh well. She thought I had food in my bag, but I said there wasn't any. They scanned our tickets and we were let in!! We headed straight to the merchandise booth and were the first ones in line in the credit card section. I'm sure we drove the lady wild we sent her everywhere to get the stuff we wanted, "One of those, two of these, another one of those," LOL, but it all worked out. I got EVERYTHING they had:
Poster, 8X10 photo of Kellie, Program, Bear, Glow Stick, Hat, Ticket Holder, Kellie Button, Key Chain, and the shirt
The only things I didn't get were the other 9 idols buttons and 8x10 Poster, Taylor's shirt and poster, and Kat's shirt and poster!!

I REALLY like the bear, shirt, and program!! You don't wanna know how much it all came to!! We then ate, I had a slice of cheese pizza, Jas had some nachos, my Mom had a hamburger, and we had two BIG drinks (Pepsi and Dr. Pepper)(Which must have arrived in the huge Coca Cola and Pepsi trucks that had come periodically when we arrived at the theater in the morning, LOL!! We went into the theater and found our seats. They were really good for what I thought they'd be. We were in section 205, row FF, Seats 14-16. My Mom and Jas headed to the bathrooms and came back and told me that they'd gone to the bathroom, bought my bro and sis at home a glow stick and taken there pic by the idols cutout. I opened my pink glow sticks and we put them on and then we waited.

Here is the concert, the whole thing was too long, LOL!!

7:30PM: They opened up with the American Idol theme and clips from Season 5. The theme was AMAZING played live and was a great opener and everyone cheered. Then Mandisa came out from some doors in the middle of the stage!!

Mandisa: Mandisa has such a powerful, strong, and passionate voice that she rocked the house!!! She is even better and stronger live, of course, and sang "I'm every Woman" excellent and dedicated it to the women. She said she couldn't believe they hadn't originally planned to come to Texas, how could they do that, and that they were all glad that they could come!! Then she slowed things down and the room got hot when she sang, "If I was your woman" which she dedicated to the men and said she was looking for one!! After pacing the stage and ruling the theater she gave thanks to God. During her song she flirted with the audience and then band and sang an amazing rendition. She also flirted with the guy who helped us give Kellie her gift and get Kellie's autograph, he deserved a good flirt!! Then she started "I am your Angel" it was soooooo sweet. And then Ace came out, he got a HUGE applause and they sang so well, Beautiful, strong, and passionate together!! They make a great couple, both so passionate, voices so strong and really loving everything about what they do!!!

Ace: Then Mandisa left and Ace got a HUGE round of applause!! He first sang "Father Figure" and at the beginning the camera zoomed in on his chest which was beating to the beat of the music, and then he sang. It was really great!! He's an excellent singer and very powerful and passionate about the way he sings his songs. He looked at the audience like he loved every one of them and climbed the ramps several times during the song to get higher on the stage. About mid-song he took off his jacket to reveal a black sleeveless undershirt. It was then that you could tell he was the only idol that consistently hits the gym!! After that song he turned around saying, "Gimme a minute," he put on a green beanie and turned back around to show his other side… rock!! He sang "Harder to Breathe" and you could tell it was totally fitting. He sang it very well and rung his head up and down during the guitar solo. He put his hands up and we all clapped along. Ace rocked the hiz-ouse!! Ace threw his beanie to the audience at the end of the song and tried to throw it hard, but it just trickled out into the audience, lucky front row!! Then Ace left and…

Lisa: Lisa was great singing "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" but the best was yet to come!!! She pranced the stage and made sure to show everyone her stuff. Then she got a key-board placed in front of her and she started to play. Lisa… was… AMAZING!! She played REALLY well and it was a talent I didn't know she had with only watching idol. She REALLY IMPRESSED ME!! She played and sang "Your Song" and made us all realize what she had to offer!! And I LOVED it!! Then she sang and played "Someone Saved My Life Today" and did just as well, except mid-way the band took over and she got up and danced once again!! After that song she introduced her best friend Paris Bennet. Her and Paris sang and danced to "Don't go Chasin' Waterfalls" and Paris had a wrap-around mike. It was obvious why!! Paris and Lisa are so young and hip that they danced through the song while also singing!! They not only sing great individual and together oh boy can they DANCE!!! They were fantastic. It was really choreographed well and after the song was over Paris applauded and told the audience to applaud her BEST FRIEND!!!

Paris: Ohhhh!! The girl is hot!! Paris everyone!!!! Paris can dance ya'll!! She can shake… dat… booty!! She is young and uses that to her advantage!! She ruled that stage and danced all over it, why didn't we get more of this on Idol?? She first sang Midnight Train to Georgia and said that she wanted to take us all to Georgia with her!! Then she broke out the serious moves with "Crazy in Love" and Uh Oh did she wow me and the rest of the crowd!! EVERYONE (Well mostly) was up and dancing and even this old man next to us tried to shake his booty!! Paris was magnificent and lovely on stage shakin' her thang!!

Bucky: Bucky came on stage and attempted the dance moves, LOL, just kidding, Bucky stuck to his country roots and sang "Superstition" with his strong southern accent!! He was great!! Then he sang "Drift away" and told everyone to wave their cell phones, lighters, or whatever to the song, so most people did!! I saw some Motorola Razors being waved, glow sticks, and many other things being waved in the air!! I thought that some one was gonna burn down the theater with their lighter, but thank goodness nothing happened!! He knocked his head up and down like Ace and interacted well with the band. He sported a good 'ol black cowboy hat and performed the songs well!! Then Kellie came out and Bucky told us it was time to see another great couple!! Kellie got a HUGE applause and you know that was what I had been waiting for the whole night!!! They sang "You're the One That I Want" and they were so cute together!! They danced and sang like a real couple and Kellie got very "in to" Bucky!! LOL!! And when the end of the song came Bucky exited the stage and it was Kellie's turn!!

Kellie: Kellie began with "I'm the Only One" and she sounded great!! Hearing Kellie live was amazing and Kellie was so beautiful and gracious on stage!! She sang her heart out with her cute country accent and when the song was over began to talk to the crowd!! She said, "Never in a million years would I have even thought that this was even a possibility! I went from a roller-skating waitress at Sonic [To here]! All those years I thought people actually cared about me when all they wanted was their food and now people are actually interested in me… it's kinda nice!! OK I won't sit up here and bore ya'll I'll do another song!!" And I really wanted her to continue but, LOL, in the beginning of her speech some guy behind us kept yelling weird things like "freebie" and "War" and it was really disturbing, but he was with his daughter who was a Kat fan, haha!! Kellie sang "Walkin' after Midnight/Somethin' to Talk About" and did just a great as EVER!! She was GREAT!! I loved hearing her sing those songs live as I had only heard them through the TV set before and had to admire her at home, now I could get my admiration out there, and I hope it showed!! Then she introduced the intermission and walked off stage. I wanted to go catch her, but... haha!! Then I walked out to go take my picture by the idols cut-out. I almost had trouble finding it at first. I went to the wrong bathroom area and when I went back to go tell Mom that it wasn't there I realized it was right in front of the door to the theater in the lobby!! So I took my picture and went back in and watched the little TV with ads for Poptarts, poptarts.com webisodes, and text messages from fans that were displayed on the screen. Jas and I text a message (Jas on her phone and me on Mom's) to try and get it to appear on screen, "I love you Kellie" and "We Love you Kellie" but they stopped the text messages on the screen shortly after the messages were sent. The webisodes they played were the one where Mandisa asked Kellie how she sang with an accent and Kellie said it was called talent, the one with Chris, Bucky, and Ace and Ace said it was all about the connection on stage, and Bucky said it was all about hair, and Chris said HAIR!! It's about passion you gotta FEEL IT!! And the one with all of them and the Bucky slide!! They played two before the show and one in intermission and I think it was the three guy's one!! Then the lights went down, the band came back, and the theme played once again and even better than before. The theme went on for a while playing more clips of the season and I clapped when Kellie popped up, but it was great to remember what got the idols to the tour in the first place: Talent!! And Kellie was the reason I was here!! After the theme Chris yelled, "What's up DALLAS!!!"

Chris: I was really looking forward to Chris as he was my 2nd favorite of season 5 and he came out to rock!! He immediately went into his great version of "Whole Lotta Love" and performed like a true rocker. He was absolutely amazing!! He rocked the house, the stage, and about the whole city!! The strobes flashed and you knew the stage was his home!! After each song he had to have a drink of water to keep his rocker voice smooth and asked how we were in "Dallas slash Grand Prairie" LOL!! He said he loved the theater response and asked if we'd come to see him on his own tour if he came there and we all cheered and anonymous "YES!!" I knew I'd be there!! He was handed a guitar and boy can he play!! He went into "Dead or Alive" and sang it (and played it) with as much heart and soul as the first!! He sang his heart out and rocked again with the entire city behind him!! He went for the water bottle again. He played again with his guitar and rocked to "Renegade" did this song get me or what!! He was awesome with this song and I think it might have become by new favorite, LOL!! Chris through out guitar picks after playing his guitar. Then he started "Savin' Me" and Elliott appeared to sing it with him!! The boys did very well together and acted like brothers rocking the theater together!! Chris left  but Elliott started his set!!

Elliott: Elliott started with "Moody's Mood For Love" and I never knew that he had that good a voice. Words cannot express how amazed I was with his single set!! The man may be short, but that only empowers his voice more. Elliott is so soulful and pure and his voice reflects his personality!! He was PERFECT on stage and I was immediately in awe over his early elimination (As I was with many of the others as well). Man was he good, I'm looking for his CD already!! In his first song when he said "'Snaps' my control," he actually SNAPPERD his fingers. When he was displayed on the big screen I noticed he had white stuff in the back of his mouth, I thought it may be gauze because he was supposedly having stuff done to his teeth/mouth. He waved at some people (I think fans) and actually said their names, I was like, say me, say me!! He then sang "Trouble" and was just as good as the first time!!!! I thought this song fit his voice better but that it was him that made the magic!! He did great with the band and the song ended on an amazing note!! Elliott called back his friends and Ace, Chris, and Bucky came back on stage. Bucky and Chris played guitar and they all sang along to "Patience". The guys really showed why they were all there and sang very well together!! They were… One!! The song ended too soon and I awaited another group song, but what I got was good!! While setting up for the group performance Chris said, "Hi ya'll, see I can talk like you!" Haha I thought it was funny!! Bucky threw out his guitar pick (Like Chris) after playing the guitar!!

Katharine: Kat appeared at the top of the stage and performed "Black Horse and a Cherry Tree". I always liked Kat's voice but this made me love her even more. Her stage interaction, presence, and voice made her one of the best performers of the second half!! Like Kellie Kat was so beautiful in person and was so graceful on stage. She went into "Somewhere over the Rainbow" but instead of the acopella beginning the music began. I thought it was odd, but then the music stopped and Kat said, "Wow ya'll are good listeners," so I thought it must have been a mistake!! None the less Kat sang the best version of that song I had ever heard. Her voice was strong, soft, and passionate as she sailed gracefully through her second song of the night!! The last song for kat was "Think" and although I'm not crazy about the song she sang and performed it very well!! Kat went to touch people's hands and jumped over the bars holding up the gate keeping people form the stage. Kat's set ended and it was time for the man of the hour!!

Taylor: Taylor appeared at the side of the theater singing "Jailhouse Rock" but he was not to be seen, people were beginning to worry when all of a sudden the crowd blew up!! Taylor appeared followed by a security guard dancing up the side aisle up to the stage and shook the first row of people's hands!! Taylor really performed the song GREAT and sang a lot better than I would have EVER expected, since I'm not a Taylor fan. But Taylor proved me wrong and he sang and performed, and danced, and gyrated all over the stage and owned the stage and the theater and probably the audience to, as EVERYONE now was up and dancing!! He went into his second song "Do I Make you Proud" and dedicated it to the people who helped give him his dreams, the American troops!! Everyone loved hearing the song that gave Taylor the title American Idol and everyone waved their glowing items once again!! Taylor went into a third song when the second had ended and it was" Livin' for the City". We all knew that it was really Taylor as he danced, performed, and sang an American Idol of a song. Taylor left and thanked us, the band, and the idols!! But we knew it wasn't over!!

**The Encore on Part 3**

Here is after the concert, the whole thing was too long, LOL!!

THE ENCORE: The audience stamped their feet and the theater shook. The lights stayed down and the band (Who had gotten up) came back and took their positions!! Taylor came back from the doors in the middle of the stage and sang "Takin' it to the Streets"!! He rocked like we expected and left the stage again. This time all of the top ten idols came back on stage and they sang "We Are the Champions" together!! It was SOOOO GREAT to see them ensemble and perform together!! They went into "Livin' in America" and ended the night with a bang!! The top ten idols back together and singing together!! What more could we ask for!! They left and then came back for a final bow and exited the stage with Thank yous and Good-Nights!! Ace was the last to leave running all over the ramps and finally launching himself over the edge of the ramp over Taylor and off stage left!! Taylor said his thanks, good-byes, and good-nights and waved off of the stage into the middle doors again!!

During the show people would yell I love you to the idols and they'd answer back I love you too and Mandisa even said, "there are so many people that deserve to be up here more than I do," and some one said something and she said, "oh you're sweet." We walked out of the theater. Some lady asked about my shirt, "Pickles?" she said and we said yeah Kellie Pickler and she asked if that was her on stage and we said yes, but she had shorter hair with extensions and she said, that she didn't even know it was her and she missed the show and needed to go back and watch it and then she asked some one with her if she knew that it was Kellie on stage, haha!!!! We entered the lobby and Mom and Jas had to go to the bathrooms. While they were in I got blank stares, does nobody know why I'm in pink. I had already received, "Hey you have those same [pink] pants," from a girl to her brother while I was trying for Meet and Greets and "Wow that guy must really like pink," I just looked at it as I was the only serious supporter, and I was proud. We went to the merchandise table and got something that the lady had charged us for and then not given us (A ticket holder) and then walked out of the lobby after getting free frozen Mint Chocolate Chip Poptarts shoved into our hand, "Just Freeze 'em and Eat 'em"! We walked out with a throng of people!! There were cars jammed everywhere and we decided to wait again by the buses. Bucky came to the buses first and everyone yelled and chanted "autograph" but he entered the bus with a wave. Kellie the same, and Elliott followed. A lady by the buses took our picture and said it may end up in their community paper, because we had the best outfits and that they were creative (Some other people had said this through out the day and we joked saying we supported Taylor in all pink) and she said Kellie should have done something nice for us/me since we did all this and we told her we got an autograph!! Mom called Dad and soon the huddle of cars cleared and we loaded up and left. I wanted to go to the Hotel that they were staying at but it was already 10 and we wouldn't be home for at least an hour. One bus pulled out and we figured it was a decoy bus and we left as it did. I talked about the marvelous experience all the way home. Five months of planning over in one spectacular day!! We went home showed my Dad the stuff I bought, told him about the concert, I took a shower, and then hit the pillow. The next day I slept until noon.
