AI5 Concert Review- Philly
My AI5 Concert Review
I just need to start off by saying, that the concert was awesome!!!!!!! My mom and Ashley got to my house a bit before 11, so then we left at 11. We got to the hotel around 1:30-2 (which was really, really nice!!) so then we checked in and went over to the Wachovia Center. So, we get to the Wachovia Center around 2 and we go to find the buses. Ashley and I found them and we each got a picture of them!!! So then we waited by the buses to see who would come out. The part we were at we had to look down to see the buses. First out we saw Ace, Bucky, and Chris. First Chris came off the bus, then Ace, then Bucky. I got a picture of Ace and Chris, but not Bucky. He didn't look up at the fans that much. We also saw Kellie and Lisa going back into the buses. I got 2 pics of them, but it was just the back of them. We wanted to wait there and see them come back off the buses, but before they did, the people at the Wachovia Center made us back away!!! I was soooooooooooo mad!!!!! I just wanted to see Kellie get back off the bus so I could get a better picture!!!! I did wave to her and scream her name though. She waved back, but I don't know if she was waving to me or not.
Then Laura got there around 3:30 so we met up with her then. It was funny cause she called me when she got there and said she was on the other side of the fence. So, I went down to go around it and said that I was just turning the corner. Then Laura said, "As soon as you turn the corner, you will see me." So, I turned the corner, and saw her!! This was the first time I met her, and even though there were 3 people there, I knew which one was her cause she was all red!!!! So, I ran over to her and we hugged!! Then, we all walked over to the box office.
Once we got in there, about 5 min. later, it started raining and thundering and lightning. It was a good thing we were inside!!!! After about 10 min. of being in there, we saw Rebecca, the person that everyone has been saying is in charge of the meet and greets. She was just going around seeing who was on her list for the meet and greet. I soooooo wish I could have been on that list!!!!! Laura had a present for Ace, so she asked Rebecca to give it to Ace. I thought I'd do the same with my present for Kellie. It was a route 44 cup from Sonic filled with Sonic mints. (By the way, I work at Sonic!) Oh, also, I put my name, email, and cell # right inside the cup!!!! I hope Kellie calls!!!! So, we were still waiting in the box office and kept seeing people coming out of the meet and greet with things signed. I sooooooooo wanted to meet Kellie!!!!!
Then around 5:30, we went to this place called the Cingular Lounge. It was a restaurant and bar. They played "Since U Been Gone" and "Invisible" while we were in there! It was awesome cause as soon as each song came on, you could hear everyone in there singing along!!! Then we heard the Idols doing sound check! That was cool.
Then it was 6 and we were allowed into the Wachovia Center. Me, my mom, and Ashley (who I was with) walked around a bit before we went to our seats. First Ashley and I got a drink to share cause we haven't had anything to drink for hours at this point!!! We found this place where you could answer a few questions and then you would win a seat cushion or a magnet. My mom and Ashley both won a seat cushion, but I won a magnet, which I lost! There was also this place where you could write a message to you idol. I put on Kellie's "I love you Kellie!!! Sonic worker, Nicole". After that, we went and bought our merchandise. I only took $25 cause i thought the shirts were only $20 so i was gonna get one and then get a key chain for $5. Turns out the shirts were $25, so I asked my mom to buy me a key chain and she did after the concert!!! I had to get a key chain cause I have one from all the Idol concerts I've gone to.
Then we sat down and after we did, I called Laura. And guess what, I could see her the whole way across the Wachovia Center!! LOL!!!! She really stood out!!!!!! It was very boring waiting for the concert to start. In front of us was this guy with his son and like, 2 of his friends. He saw my pants and my shirt (which was covered in Kellie!!!) He called his wife, who was in another section with their daughter and some of her friends, because his daughter is a big Kellie fan. And get this, she had the same name as Kellie!!! She loved my pants. I showed both the back and front. Then, this guy let me and Ashley look at their tour book. My fave part on Kellie's page was the last question that said, "What 3 things will you be bringing on tour?" and she said, "Shoes, shoes, and more shoes!!!"
So then around 7:15 the concert started!!!!!! They dimmed the lights and then we saw the AI theme on the middle jumbotron!!!! It was awesome!!!!!! That song is like, my life anthem since Idol is my life!!!!! They showed pics of the contestants on the screen and I only screamed every time they showed Kellie!!!!
First up was Mandisa. I thought she was very good. I liked "I'm Every Woman". That is my fave song that she sings. I actually like her more now than I did before. I think I like everyone more now than I did before.
Then Ace came out and sang a duet with Mandisa. That was really good!!! Then, Mandisa left the stage and Ace sang a few songs!!! He sang "Father Figure" and OMG!!! It was amazing!!!!!! He was never one of my faves, but I think now I like him almost as much as Laura does!!! I see why she likes him as much as she does!!!!!
Next was Lisa. She was really good. It's cool how the Idols sound different live. This tour is a really good thing for the Idols cause I think it gets them more fans. After Lisa, she invited Paris up to the stage and they sang a duet.
Now, I have to start off by saying that Paris annoyed me when she was on the show. But, I'm happy to say that she doesn't annoy me anymore!!!! I'm a Paris fan now!!! Heck, I'm a fan of everyone now!!!! I thought she did very well!!!!
Next up was Bucky, and you have no clue how happy I was that he was next. It's not because I love Bucky (he's just ok) it was because I knew that Kellie was next!!!!! I was freaking out like crazy!!!!! I liked his rendition of "Superstition". Ok, then the moment I was waiting for.......
KELLIE PICKLER!!!!!!!!!!!! As soon as she came out, I starting cheering like crazy!!!! I just couldn't believe that I was seeing Kellie Pickler live!!!!!!!!!!! She sounds amazing live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really can't wait till her CD comes out on November 14th!!!!! I'm definitely getting it the day it comes out!!!!!!!!! I loved "Walking After Midnight" and "I'm the Only One/Something To Talk About". I was singing every single word!!!! After one of her songs, she mentioned someone in the audience that had a sign. So, at this point, I got mine out, and maybe she would see it and read it. Mine said, "Since you went on Idol, I took your job. I'm carhop at Sonic!!" The one that she mentioned said, "Have you tried calamari again?" And she said something about she's learned that once you have something once that is horrible, you don't have it again. She is just soooooo cute!!!!!!!!! She said something about having worked at Sonic and stuff!!!! I forget exactly what she said though. I was sooooooooo caught up in actually seeing her live, that I forgot what she said! So, sadly, Kellie's part was over
After Kellie was the half hour intermission. I wanted to meet up with Laura again (she is the best person ever!!!!) but our seats were too far away. We would have walked over there, said hi, and would have had to walk all the way back to our seats!!!!
The show started again, and they restarted it off by playing the Idol theme again and after that they showed more pics of the Idols. Some were the same, but some were different. And again I was only cheering when they showed Kellie!!!!
Next up, my mom's fave, Chris. I thought he was really good!!!!! I liked when he sang "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Renegade". I'm more of a fan now that before the concert!!!!! I loved how Chris said that he thought OH was the best crowd, but now he thinks we were!!!!
Then, Elliott came out and sang with Chris. I think my English teacher made me a fan of him. Cause when he was on the show, he wasn't anyone I liked, but he wasn't anyone that I hated. He was just this guy that I never really payed any attention to. But I thought he did very well!!! He had on a Sixers jersey and said about how he has lots of family in this area! His mom was in the audience. She was actually across the aisle from where Laura, her mom, and her friend Kaitlyn were sitting. And guess what, I could see her from across the place, too.
After Elliott, all the guys came out and sang "Patience". This was supposed to be the tribute to Kat, but I don't see how it was. It made me mad that they didn't even mention her name!!!!! I mean, the song sounded like a dedication to Kat, but they didnt' say that! Did they assume that we knew it was a tribute to her??? I heard that at other concerts, they showed pics of Kat on the video screen. They didn't do that at our concert!!!
Then all the girls came out and sang "I Feel Like A Woman". That was really good!!! I liked Kellie's solo the best!!! But all of the girls were good!!!! I liked what Kellie was wearing during this song!!!!
Next was the guy I was dreading to see!!! If you guessed Taylor, then u are correct!!!!! I just can't see how America picked him to be the next American Idol!!!! One thing he can't do, is dance!!!!!! He is one of the worst dancers ever!!!! The only song from him that I liked and sang along to was "Do I Make You Proud". That is a really good song it he sings it well.
After that, the band left the stage. I knew though that the concert wasn't over. So then Taylor came back out and sang another song. Then the rest of the Idols came out and they did a couple of group songs. They were really good!!!!!! I was freaking out again cause Kellie was on stage again!!!
So then after the concert, I called Laura and asked where she wanted to meet up at. She said by her mom's car, so that is where she went. On the way out we got a free pop tart. The new kind, mint chocolate chip. That was really good!!!! There were a lot of people that were waiting by the fence. This time, we were at the part where the Idols could come right up to the fences and they were on the same level as us. There were people on the other side of the fence where you look down at the buses, but I don't see why they were up there, cause if the Idols came out, they couldn't get their autograph or anything. So then, it started raining a bit, but we didn't mind. Laura's mom eventually got out umbrella's, and me, Laura, Kaitlyn, and Ashley huddled under one. The people at the Wachovia Center were telling the people on the other side of the fence that they had to leave. It was cool that they didn't tell us to leave. But, about 5-10 min. later, they did. They didn't really say we had to leave, they just said we had to back away from the fence. So, we did and we just stood by Laura's mom's car. Then, they said that they would start towing cars. So, we all packed into the car and Laura's mom drove over to where my mom parked. We got out, Laura and I hugged and said goodbye, then they drove off before us. Well, when we started going towards the exit, I saw Laura and them stopped and just sitting there. I called Laura and asked what they were doing. She said that security left and earlier, they said we could come back after they left. We also heard a lot of screaming, so we knew that at least one of the Idols had to have been outside. So, we went back over and parked again. We got out and went back to the fence. A couple of the Idols, I think it was Ace and Chis, were teasing us by letting us see their heads over the hill!!!! Some people with the tour came over, and then Ace came up!!! At this point, Laura was freaking out!!!! He calmed us down (well, tried to) and said if we stayed right where we were at, he would start at one end and get everyone an autograph. It was a good thing we were at the beginning of where he started, cause he got like, 3 or 4 people past us, and then he had to stop. My mom was excited, too. I took her pic w/ Ace. She looks like a goof in the pic though. And I am really happy for Laura!!!!! Her goal for the day had been completed!!! I love her pic w/ him!!! So then, we really left the venue. It was really sad!!!!! I had tears in my eyes cause I really wanted to meet Kellie and I didn't get to But, I had fun anyway. I would definitely love to see another concert!!! I might see if I can try and win tix for Hershey or Reading!!!! I hope I win Reading tix cause I know exactly where to go to meet them!!! Even if I don't win tix, my mom said she will take me so we can go after the concert and try and meet them! I hope my dad and step-mom will let me do that!!!!!! Well, thanks for reading my review.
