What do you do to backgrounds? I noticed in a lot of your blends the backgrounds are something that really stands out to me...

Well, i try a lot of different things. sometimes I just add different colored granites and erase them from the face. I also i use some textures. Umm sparkles sometimes...and sometimes different brushes like circles and set them to different opacities and modes. If you have an example i can explain more.

a lot of the backround in that pic was just the main picutre. Like to the left, the purple and stuff was just the picture. The dots was just a round brush that I took an erasor and erased a little so it looked different grudgy i cause it's called.
Then the lines is a brush I got on Idolforums. I might of used a texture too, but I don't remember what one.

I found them both in the kellie photos section on this site. The one in my blend is from country weekly magazine I think, and the NYC are called 7 HQ pics.
