My Greensboro Concert Review!
I appologize in advance to any Kat fans, I'm not too kind to her so skip over it if you want. Its really long too, but I'll be posting pictures later on once they are all uploaded.
The day started early, Lauren and I decided not to go early and try to get a meet and greet, but I still had to leave my house at 3 in order to get to Greensboro by 5 to eat dinner. I was trying to be smart and factor in traffic but go figure, there was like 0 traffic once I got outside of Chapel Hill. So I got to Greensboro around 4:30 and I swear every other car I saw had something painted about Bucky on it, and they had the cutest shirts like these but carolina blue

I ran into Chilli's to go to the bathroom and saw that the line was insane, Bucky's entire fan club was there. There were lik 70 people waiting for tables all decked out in their Bucky gear. I got back in my car and played around until Lauren got there.
We basically decided that we didn't want to wait to eat at Chilli's so we drove down the highway away from the arena until we found a Wendys. Luckily we got there just in time so that there were only 2 people in front of us, cause as we were eating the line grew to like 20 people, 50% of them wearing the Bucky shirts. We finished dinner and headed over to the collesium.
As we were driving in we got a flier about Nick Lachey and Carrie Underwood, two shows I so want to go to. We parked the car and it just so happened that we parked by Mrs. Musilek. I coached her daughter Madison at RSA. So I went over and said hello and then found madison and said hello to her, then it was inside the venue. We stopped at the merchandise stand and got our stuff. I got the top 10 poster and a program. I'm still amazed at how much money I am willing to drop at concerts.
Our seats were easy to find and I was pleasantly surprised by how close we are. I did one test shot of the set to see what kind of pictures I could get and after looking at it, I got even more excited about the seats.
Mandisa- She opened up the show and I was pleasantly surprised by her. I'm still not her biggest fan by any means, but she has such amazing power. Plus she seems like such a nice person. She dedicated "If I Was Your Woman" to Ruben. After she finished the song she said that if we ever happened to see Ruben wandering around the streets we needed to tell him that she was looking for him. I couldn't stop myself from yelling out, "i saw him last week". She was the first of many to mention how good it felt to be back home in the south. Mandisa was then joined by Ace and they did a duet of "I'm Your Angel" which was surprisingly good. Their voices blended well and they had a lot of chemistry which I wasn't expecting. Mandisa was one of the idols I walked away from the concert realizing that I liked her more
Ace- Ace was the first of many to recieve the ear piercing scream of young girls. After he dueted with Mandisa, he did a brief chat with the audience and then went into "Father Figure". When Ace is singing htat kind of song he is amazing. The song suits him so well, he had some cheesy moves such as singing "warm and naked" and taking his jacket off with the last word. Yeah..show that your IQ is higher than your age. Ace spoke to us a little mroe and said that we were good looking, yeah Ace basically relies on his sex, lol. Then he did "Harder to Breathe" which to sum it up--sucked. He was mumbling and just horrible.
Lisa-Lisa to sum it up, blew me away. She proved why she made it on the show in the first place. Signed, Sealed, Delivered showed off her weakness in upbeat songs. But then she sat down at the piano and played "Your Song" and "Someone Saved My life Tonight". She gave me goosebumps and made me wish that I could have heard more from her on the show. Then she introduced Paris and they sang "Waterfalls" which had the most adorable choreography ever. Those two girls are crazy cute.
Paris-She started out talking about how great it was to be in the south. She then asked us to take a trip with her to Georgia and broke out into "Midnight Train to Georgia". She was cute as a button, but she left me unimpressed. She did Crazy In Love and her dancing was amazing but her vocals fell flat. She did this dance with a chair and a hat like Britney Spears in one of her videos it was so cute.
Bucky-With this performance the concert really and truly began for me. Bucky came out to thousands of screams and a bunch of people jumping up and down. He opened up with "Superstition" and it was sooo cute and sooo good. He cemented in my mind just how dang hot he is. I was drooling and screaming for him the whole time. After finishing up the song he went up to the top and got a guitar and started "Drift Away". He also put on his black cowboy hat which was so hot. He mentioned that the first thing he did when he got to Richmond the night before was get a big ole glass of sweet tea. He mentioned how great it was to be home and then asked if any people in the audience liked "miss pickler". When he heard screams he announced that we would like the next song. Then he broke into "You're The One That I want". He Started and the screen split open and Kellie stepped out. She had her back towards us and was wearing the BR jacket. Then she walked down the steps and sang with Bucky. She kept glancing out at the audience and grinning really big when she started a new dance move , it was kinda like a "hey mom, look at me" kind of thing. She gave the cutest look when she started grinding back against Bucky. After their song they hugged, and then Bucky was gone.
Kellie- Then Kellie was alone on stage and she started talking about how glad she was to be back in the south and how thankful she was that we were being so kind to the others and how excited Lisa and 'Disa were to be here and how glad she was that we were being so nice to them. Then she started talking about Sweet tea and fried okra and all the other foods she missed while she was out in California. Then she broke into "I'm the Only One" It sounded so much better live than it did on the tv. She went down in the audience. Then she got the house lights turned on and talked to the audience a bit and then broke into Walking after Midnight at which point she shrugged her jacket off to reveal the corsett which also included a cute look out into the audience. midway through the song she switched to Something to Talk About, and that sounded absolutely amazing. After that song she started chatted a bit more and then told us that they were going to take a break so that she could change out of her corsett so that she could finally catch a breath.
Chris- He opened the second act and i'm sure he was good, but I just don't like the guy. He screamed through the whole set and I was just kinda like meh.. he did one little chat about being back home, and then sang 3 songs. He was full of energy and he looked nice sweaty but yeah thats all I got, lol. He introduced Elliott and they sang Savin' Me. Which was the best part of the set.
Elliott- He chatted a bit about the south and stuff and then sang his songs. He sang Trouble which was so freaking awesome. He sang Moodys Mood for Love and it was so cool. it was quiet and you could hear him so clearly. He sounds just as amazing live as on tv. I really remembered what I loved so much about him. He did another chat and invited the other guys back out and they sang Patience. It put Carrie Underwood's version to shame. Bucky was back playing his guitar in the cowboy hat and dang was it hot. And the view of him and elliott right together was really really nice.
Kat- She drove the nail in her coffin. After this experience I can't stand the girl. Its over, I can't handle looking at her, hearing her name, anything. SHe drives me absolutely insane. She sang Black Horse In A Cherry Tree and it was amazing but she sounded as if she wasn't trying at all. And randomly in the middle of the song she shouts out "I love the south". Umm what the freak? Random much? I mean..were you saying that for any reason other t.han to be fake and kiss our butts. I understand the other idols from the south saying it but Kat? Seriously. She talked to us and told us that she could only sing 2 songs cause of drs orders. She kept pointing at things and saying "oh my god" and "i love you guys" and it might have been genuine but it all felt so fake to me. She asked us not to tell the people back in LA how much she loved the south (weird?) and then said that we were the best audience ever. I yelled at her "what out of all three you've seen". I know I'm mean but she makes me so mad. Then she sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and it was really lacking, but she tried.
Taylor- And then my baby was coming. All the lights went out and then I heard the music and I jumped on my chair to try to spot him. He walked so close to us to get to the stage and I'm pretty sure I was screaming like a fan girl. By the time he got on stage he was singing a different song and doing signature Taylor moves as well as some other ones which I found strangely hot. He kept taking a tambourine and beating it against his chest and it was adorable in ever sense of the word. I'm fairly sure I screamed randomly through out his set, but I don't really remember. I was in happy Taylor land at that point. He spoke to us and said that we were awesome and all that good stuff then he broke into "Living For The City". There was some more sexy dancing and I was squealing and screaming and singing at the top of my lungs. Then he stopped and dedicated the next song to all the men and women overseas and broke into "Do I Make You Proud". Basically, I've realized that this is my favorite Idol single ever. Its probably not the best one but it just describes where I am in my life so perfectly and I just really connect with Taylor when he sings it. I started crying halfway through it but still managed to scream. He changed up the last lyric so that it said "you guys...you've been a great crowd" and then he waved and disappeared. THen he took of his jacket and came back on stage and sang "Taking It To the Streets". He did some of his signature dance moves and sounded amazing, I was having so much fun during his set. Then he waved and disappeared once again.
Encores: The top 10 minus Tay and Kat came out and sang "We Are The Champions". It was cute and Kellie had a solo during it which absolutely blew me away. She sounded amazing! Then Taylor and Kat came out and they broke into "Living In America". Lisa and Kellie and Mandisa were cracking up about something in one corner. Taylor and Kat were doing a booty bump which was hands down the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. I felt kinda bad for Kat she seemed kind of out of the loop and no longer as close to the girls. They kept walking in cricles on the stage and stopping randomly to sing a few bars. At the end they all came to center stage and stood together. Taylor was calling out random towns to the tune of the song and he did "Albermarle" and I started screaming and Kellie threw her head back laughing. It was so cute! Then they all left the stage but after a few moments later Lisa, Eliott, Kat, Paris, Mandisa, Ace, and Taylor came out. Taylor introduced the hometown idols and Kellie came out and then Bucky, and then Chris. They did a little more dancing and waving and then they were gone.
All in all it was amazing, this group of idols was so insanely talented. So much more so than any other year. After the concert I worked my way up to the stage, we walked past "Absent Element" and I climbed over some seats to get to the barrier by the stage. I called out to the road crew and asked for a set list. One guy stopped and told me that they didnt' have set lists for this show. So I asked, "what was taped to the floor of the stage" and he told me they were lyrics, then he ran backstage and came back and tossed the set list to me. This old lady tried to intercept it, but I got it from her and thanked him profusely. I walked back over to where Lauren was and as we were standing there Eliott's model girl friend walked right by us.
Then I had the longest 2 hour drive home ever. But it was soooo much fun
